Yes on of my favourite airliners too!
It was a real joy to work on that's for sure. Nice to fly too by all accounts.

Thanks Steve .. YEAH It has that look to it too , when approaching airports all dirty .. they simply really look the part as well :) Just a little different to the other designs , course well known as the pilots aircraft , I would love to here how that from the drivers and why that became a quiet legend.

Nice work Ian :thumbup: I can add this to my list of "flown in "many moons ago , going back to AKL after some leave at home .
About 4 of us ended up on a DC-10 going north on a positioning flight .... it was almost empty.
I can still recall being amazed at the size of the cabin , having never been on a big one before .. and the cabin crew explaining that because we were seated in the middle , the gear retraction sounds were a little loud .
Funny the little things you recall from way back in the last century ... other than , i have no recollection of the trip :rolleyes:

Me first flight on one was 1980 but watching it train in around Christchurch 1973.
