Yes, I'm looking forward to installing it, I downloaded yesterday but this time I'm waiting for an AS16 update first.

I'm the lucky bastard, "most stable version yet" by the time I get it , It would be as solid as a rock , I was looking a X-plane 11 promo, everything they ramped up on it was exactly what we see to in FSX course this P3D .. marketing .. mind you were I am , I have a SUBWAY , a BURGERFUEL , a CARL Jr. plus all the other food stalls ..... its now who's sauce tastes better.

Personally I don't think I go the Xplane plane way , some reason it simply dose not look natural ... I have another look later , but P3D and or for FSX SE , the familiar installing and operation is more natural and appealing.

An ASN2016 beta update is available I understand.
We're renovating right now; by the time I get my sim back (after Christmas most likely) I suspect P3Dv4 will be out, and Orbx will have shifted to their Centralv3 and basically I may as well wipe everything out and start all over again...

Downloaded and installed. Most stuff works fine, AS16 needs an update and some other small plugins need a quick update as well. Some interesting new features like the Cinematographer mode which makes it really easy to move around in the cockpit or even outside the plane. And there are some nice visual aids, like seeing airspace boundaries in flight, a trail of your own flight path and more.

Grabbed the beta AS16 update this morning, but then ran into a snag with Prepar3d -- some time ago I had a rogue uninstaller which cleared out my uninstall registry, so I can't uninstall the Prepar3d client... I might have to start over when I've got some time.

AS16 and ASCA both have beta updates out. ORBX has an update to the ORBXLIBs - just run up FTX Central 2. Also there's an update to FSUIPC with 3.4 compatibility.

I had to switch P3D to DirectInput from Raw input to get my force feedback back, and had to remap some of my controls and adjust sensitivities again as a result.

I've seen some some depth issues on ORBX NZNI - with some runway markings not being at the correct height, and my default flight (Turbine Duke at NZWN) has the aircraft slightly buried in the runway apron. A new save seems to have sorted that. Also I've seen some lines in the ocean, but will have to do some more testing of that to see if it just needed the shaders rebuilt say.

Majestic will have an update out shortly as you get a version error with the Q400, though it runs OK.

Could you run a repair on 3.35 and then try?

Yes, that's something I looked at, but after a search of my backups etc, I decided that I'd deleted the 3.3 installer to save space...

My plan now is to do a manual uninstall including registry clean-up, reinstall and then worry about getting the license transferred -- a good thing about having a developer license is that it runs from month to month, so worst-case is that I just cancel it and start over.

However as I'm hopefully on the last 6 or 7 weeks of Dunedin development, it isn't the ideal time to start over -- on the other hand, I really want to see a fully Prepar3d version of my scenery, which wasn't really possible until 3.4, due to the issues with ground polys.

Managed to do a new install of 3.4, it worked out well with a bit of planning -- keeping scenery outside the P3D installation folder means that I can just overwrite the scenery.cfg and it all works without reinstalling the addons.
This is the first clean install I've done for a long time, I'll see how long before I mess it up....

This particular problem -- losing all the uninstall registry entries -- was entirely my own fault, testing a new installer idea, one little spelling mistake and havoc is wrought. I also tend to try little tweaks without keeping track of what I've done -- so I have no idea what I'd done to get my sim looking like it did before.

Hehe - in my old FS9 UK VFR setup I had an excellent green ocean texture which was the envy of many, and I hadn't the faintest idea of how I had achieved it
It was quite like the green text in Rob's signature.

Yeah, I'm thinking of having some sort of file for tweaks etc, but I don't really think I'm that committed to organisation...
Actually, starting over with Prepar3d turned out great, I get to set up my shaders etc on top of AS16/ASCA, without the confusion of previous tweaks/clouds/weather progs etc.

Great shot. What shaders are you using? I've steered clear of such things so far due to version issues and not wanting to over-complicate my setup.

Yeah, I can understand that, there's been a couple of false starts with shader tools for Prepar3d, so it does seem a bit complicated.

Currently using PTA, it's been updated for Prepar3d 3.4, and is reasonably simple to use.

Strangely , re-installing FSX and looking good, P3D .. yeah would be interesting to see, but very sure I'm running out of room.

I've been out of the loop for a while, but looking at getting P3D. Which licence have most people going for? It seems to be the academic license is the way to go?
