Sorry Ian

The old wing commander would be ranting like nothing before .... Sorry little fella it's happening as we speak (but not the paint or model)

Ironic that ANZ get 2 versions of Airbus to cover the 789 routes due to the engine issue ... and good on them as well. But I must be honest, those extra 2 engines are comforting.

A few years ago one of our 747 simulator instructors, "Hutch", passed away. A former chief pilot and standards and training manager he was a staunch Boeing man and hated the Airbus with a passion.
At the end of the 747 days he was cruelly reassigned to the A320 simulator. Being 80 years old there were murmurings that this was deliberately done to 'encourage' him to resign, which he duly did.
He died a very short time later (heart attack) with many believing the stress and indignation accelerated his passing.
Many pilots and ex flight engineers attended the funeral and we were all mortified to see that the front cover of the order of service had his picture along with an A320 (and not his beloved 747) as the background image.
He would have turned in his grave.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Funny thing... the 340 Had issues in Sydney that made it miss curfew out of YSSL and an 18hr delay which cancelled the flight on its first bloody trip! :plane:
