NZ5545

Postby jankees » Mon May 10, 2021 5:11 pm

I've updated my NZ5545 paint for the Milviz FG-1D:
F4U-1D NZ5545 of the RNZAF. BuNo 50454 was shipped to New Zealand aboard USS Saltlake Park, was assembled in Hobsonville in June 1944 and received the name 'Corsair' on the nose. It was used for demonstrations and displays around New Zealand. It was later attached to the Fighter Gunners School in Ardmore from November 1944 till July 1945. It was sold in 1948 to J. Larsen of Palmerston North.

Wow I never even got to the others, the first one stopped me in my tracks.
 Love it when a screenshot gives me vertigo.

Are you able to share your process on the "aged" look on the black and white ?

yes, it is actually really easy. You simply take the original WW2 photograph that you used for inspiration, and you post it.
It's a real photo. :D :D

The Corsair of the RNZAF, it must have been a magical moment when the pilots of machines like the P-40 from Curtiss switched...
