We need a lot more custom scenery for NZ

Postby toprob » Thu Nov 28, 2024 3:42 pm

One of the things which may bring me back to development is the vast difference between the default airports in MSFS2024, and what can be achieved by some custom work. One day I'd like to see all NZ airports looking more like a nice place to visit.

Hey, flowers = pollinators, save the bees!

Here's an airport which needs some love -- Dannevirke.

Oh dear!!!!! You'd have thought there'd be default exclusion zones for *all* airports <??>.

To all of the above, I have a short answer: it is "Yes!"

I think if more local airfields (not major airports; NZRT my local and, say, anything in 150nm) were properly modeled to a high standard with the 'bells and whistles' ('dynamic' scenery like people and vehicles and moving aircraft) we've come to expect like then I'd likely be a lot more interested than I currently am.

I am interested in 2024's aircraft in the circuit that I've heard mentioned and would like to know more about that, especially if they do 'proper' circuits and give out proper radio controls. And more especially if that happens at uncontrolled airfields without ATC.
