Metallic Engines??????

Postby Aharon » Sat Apr 18, 2026 1:54 am

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

While enjoying NZFF forums' new cool revolving or changing banners that display different banner every time anyone moves around the forums, I was so surprised to see banner of Air New Zealand 747 with ALL METALLIC engines. Is that correct that Air New Zealand 747 had all metallic engines instead of painted engines?? I thought Air New Zealand used painted gray color engines??

Please advise??

Regards,

Aharon

I'm pretty sure the 747-200s all had bare metal engines and the 747-400s were painted, although someone more knowledgeable may correct me.

When I did that screen, the model I used didn't have the correct engine option for the ANZ version ....so those are the wrong engines anyway, but I think they suit it.

Ahh that explains my puzzlement. Good thing I knew that ANZ 747s did not have shiny metallic engines. Thanks for explanation to clear my puzzlement up.
