Did you reinstall or get the latest video card drivers for your card? Is Direct X updated and working?
You did reinstall FSX after reinstalling Vista? (in case you just reinstalled over and existing Vista installation?).

Your reinstall - did you format your drive and reinstall, or run a repair?
I'd suspect a registry problem on the info above. Did you do a clean install of FSX as well? Could try putting the original FSX disk and trying repair - It never worked for me - but some it has.
Reformat, Clean FSX Install Disk Repair To No Avail

Dean wrote:QUOTE (Dean @ Aug 31 2012,3:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I suggested video card/directx issue because the transition from splash screen to main menu I think involves a switching of video display, and hence it is a prime location for video related issues to occur. It may not be, but often it is related to the video card in one form or another.
Could also possibly be FSX logbook related.
There is no fsx logbook in the Flight Simulator file (C:\Users\Ben\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files)
If It Helps In Any Way, I Left It Over Night And When I Looked at it this morning it said that error message about fsx running out of available memory.
Im Trying to start it now but its gone unresponsive.
Oh And it did run for like 1 min after i installed fsx dulex, then i exited it without flying to install acceleration, When acceleration didn't work I uninstalle dfsx and reinstalled this time it wouldnt work with or without fsx dulexLast edited by Ben on Fri Aug 31, 2012 4:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.

This has been the same since MS Flight Simulation was created , each two year jump built a problem but also remedy one , FSX now going seven years old is still doing well for itself .
