More food for thought ... just to show how appalling the default FSX in many parts of NZ actually is ...

Its one hell off an impressive display , and so easy people forget ..... 4/5 years back the cry was FSX and how far out , so brown , today look at the choice and at Christmas time to . santa_cool.gif

Xacily.. We are now spoiled for choice. We should concider ourselves very lucky. Every one will have their favourite landclass product. Each to his own, otherwise the debating will go on for an age and a half.

VLCGodzone Ashburton compatbility with FTX NZSI
http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/400...-with-ftx-nzsi/

Hi Eddy,

I followed your instructions a couple of weeks ago to make Godzone NZAS and NZKI compatible with FTX NZSI....everything worked fine until recently, when I disabled "OCEANIA" in FTX CENTRAL (Enabled FSX)...and then re-selected "OCEANIA" after some ops in the North Island

I now find that NZAS and NZKI have no GODZONE scenery and I have been unable to access your ORBX links to reconfigure these addons.!!!

Could you possibly post the configuration instructions on this Forum???

Cheers,

Bob R

Hi there

Check the order of priority in the scenery library. Make sure the good stuff is sitting above ORBX. I think that when you change regions in ORBX it may put its scenery back above everything else.

Did another FTX Central switch to FSX and then back to OCEANIA and confirm that the GODZONE addons sit below all the FTX folders in the Scenery Library....so you need to move the Addons to the top of your Scenery Library every time you do the switch.

Better yet, you can set the priority of NZSI within FTXcentral -- Tools: Scenery Library Configuration: FTX Scenery Library Insertion Point. Make the insertion point just above VectorLandClass and DEM. Once you change this, central will use this whenever you change the region. There might be a few times when you'll need to edit this, so it's useful to know.

EDIT: Getting back to your original query, yes, it does look like Orbx have removed Eddy's info from their forum. I think that their patch changed the way this worked, anyway.

I would recommend waiting for my patches, you can try and make your own changes to get rid of Orbx airports, but this may mean that you won't be able to use any upcoming patches reliably.
I'm on holiday at the moment, back in 10 days. I've mentioned earlier that patches are not as simple as I'd hoped for, because Orbx have changed so many airport elevations so they no longer match AIP elevations. Ashburton is one of these -- a little over 3 metres out, which can't be easily smoothed over.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for that info...had an inkling that the Orbx Patch may have been the culprit!!

And have a very enjoyable holiday.

Ian - no offence - but could you re-phrase that?

On release of all ORBX scenery in the early period , the switch,s simply did not work , pain in the ass having to fly NZ to OZ pause to switch then only to find many areas corupted and on return the switch did not work .
