REX Essentials+

Read and report on flightsim developers progress of upcoming or completed products

Postby AndrewJamez » Wed Nov 07, 2012 7:38 am

I hope that they release a full version at some stage. It would be a pain when ever we did a full OS or fsx install we had to install REX essentials and then essentials plus over top. A full fsx install is long winded enough...

Update: just checked my mailbox and if like me you bought REX through FlightSimStore, there is a full version download available. If you download from the REX site itself, it will only be an upgrade.

Well as I was watching the clock (and on UTC) I managed to get REXE within 5 minutes of release. No such luck this time. Can't even get a download to start. I'll wait until the weekend I think, when I've got time to set it up and have a fly biggrin.gif

Andrew, I got this FSS mail, too. I think the version in the FFS is indeed the latest one - but does not contain Overdrive. So, if you want to upgrade to overdrive you still have to either download Overdrive from the REX website separately or get an upgrade installer including Overdrive from the REX Website. I went the last way (still have to install it, though).

At least that's what I understood. While the line of free upgrades from REX is really generous, the flood of versions and namings is indeed hard to get. Next version might be REX Essentials Plus Super Overdrive Enhanced.

Kind regards, Michael

So where is this info for the ones that can't download????????????

Why can't REX just give us a link to the download without all this bulls*@t
Maybe I should ask for my money back as they are not supplying me with the updates

Settle petal,

You are not logged in and it said it clearly that you have to sign it.

All it is saying is "Dear All,

Due to just over 60TB being delivered by my servers already for all people to enjoy REX I need to perform some maintenance

This will take some time for me to perform, I will post back here when it is done. "

Hope this helps you.

May pay to just sit back for a while

I have logged in to the forum link from the email about 3 or 4 times now and posted my REX order number and still get the same message so don't say I haven't signed in.
It would of been far easier for every one if REX had given us a link in the email
If I download from my account at Flightsim store is it updated with the overdrive or not?

The download from the FSS is the updated version without overdrive.

I'm just gonna wait a week or so, let the dust settle.

We are now offering the full REX Essentials Plus with the Overdrive package included at PC Aviator (for those that have not purchased it prior). This might be a simplified way to get the package all in one location. We have split the 9Gb download into many smaller chunks for easier downloading too... Or of course you can order our backup DVDs for a small extra amount if you do not wish to download...

Product online now at http://www.pcaviator.com.au/store/REX-Essentials-Plus.html

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

UPGRADE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

FROM: REX ESSENTIAL BUILD 3.0.2012.0522
TO: REX ESSENTIAL PLUS OVERDRIVE BUILD 3.5.2012.1029

I,ve finally got around to downloading and upgrading REX essential plus from Flightsim Store. I see in Flyboys post the new version should be 3.5.2012.1029

I started at 3.0.2012.055 but after upgrading the new version reads 3.1.2012.1028 I was wondering what everyone elses version is after the upgrade? I haven't got the overdrive yet.

Cheers.

Edit: Duh I may have just answered my own question, I see in flyboys post it's the upgrade to essential plus overdrive icon_redface.gif
