Downloading now. 30% in under 5 minutes not bad.

Edit: This is not for the serious simmer. One word to descibe it: Underwelming.

I can't download it because it thinks I live in Canada! I think this is due to the fact that I applied for the Flight beta while living there. A quick search shows that there may be NO WAY to change your country of residence after it's set! Crazy stupid MS. Crazy stupid.

edit: Just talked to Xbox live support- The only way to get around this is to create an entirely new email account/xbox live account.

Managed to get around it by putting in my old Canadian address and have played it a bit....The interface is very swish and the game seems very smooth. I just did one of the more advanced landings in the A5 and there were some 'nice' moments as the aircraft got bounced around in the wind and the lighting changed in the cockpit as the sun dissapeared behind a hill on descent smile.gif

Just loaded up some really rubbish weather too...wow, it's difficult to keep that little A5 inside its flight envelope: As a result on landing into a 39kt gusting head wind, I couldnt raise the nose after wind shear and crashed it on the runway knocking out the landing lights and shooting very realistic sparks from my wing as it scraped along the runway.

I'm having fun smile.gif

Is it just me, or is the ghost of FSX still haunting this game....... Particularly in the scenery department.

That's what I like the most -- when you look at the Flight files, it is all pretty much built on FSX, so the base already exists for a 'killer' sim. Most files are recognisable -- from the Regions.bgl, Seasons.bgl, population.bgl, all the way through to the SimObjects format. If they make money from this, then it would make sense to spend some of it on developing the next MSFS.

I'm not saying that's what'll happen, but that's what makes sense to me.

I imagine there will be a pretty healthy community of reverse-engineers going hard at it, and developers who arent afraid of being blacklisted by MS for pumping out stuff based on community knowlegde may have a field day. Of course their ability to sell via a MS exchange mechanism will be unlikely. Should open it up for the freeware developers nicely though.

...as long as MS dont sue them. Also if Flight does not contain or use "sim connect" then the awsomeness that A2A accusim and the like will not talk to Flight rendering this technology pretty much useless. Lets hope that sim connect or a newer version exists within Flight for future development.

I agree, waste of time and bandwidth. It doesn't pack much more than FSX with REX and a decent payware addon. Too.... Gamey I reckon.
