I like vc for looking around and realism but 2D for instrument work...
I reckon theres still a place for 2D..

Hey I just had a proper read of the thread and saw that there was little/ no 2D panel. I remember reading a thread in the captain sim forums where the administrator flamed someone for asking about 2D, they said 2 D is old news, VC is where its at. I'm not so worried about eye candy but funcionality.

I haven't had a good play around in the VC yet, but I'd say about 30% of the switches are clickable. Probably just the basic switches like lights, starter etc. The 2d panel is all that's shown, default gps and radio stack. As I said they midas well have not bothered with one at all.

For the money, it's going to have to provide a lot more extra goodies, than the excellent freeware version...Be interested to hear your hands-on opinion.

I'm one of those suckers who bought the AS Seasprite & been regretting it ever since. The one by Nigel Booth & Adrian Brausch blow's AS's out of the water. Have you seen the videos someone put on YouTube, showing their Main Rotorhead disaster during startup on their FS9 version?

DISASTER II

Functional minpanels, yes. No need to clutter with big Bmp's that obscure the view though.

It's a goof. They happen (far more easily than you might think).
The test will be to see how AS respond.

These simple mistakes from alphasim are caused from bad choices, they have there own forum ,they choose beta testers from people that are on there forums ,these people in most cases are alphasim supporters and proberly never want to say anything bad about there work and are just into freebies and feeling important ,
testers should be trustworthy ,come from a designing history so they can pick out things that "normal simmers " would not ,come from a non opinionated view so they can say thats cr@p or theres a problem ,and fully test the product at different settings /times /from start to finish ..
Ive found from the past that i can still pick out ten or so things wrong after a tester has beta it ,so i now have a short list of the ones that always find something i could do better or find problems with my work and will always tell me ,,the ones that just want free stuff first are now the last to get it and dont test for me now ..
there will be a fix no doubt for these troubles and id say from the past it will be soon because alphasim have always been good at that thumbup1.gif just dont think paying customers should be the final beta team for a 65$ product dry.gif

Wow, thats a beauty they've over looked there....

Back to 2D, yeh theres a place for it for sure, no disputing that.

In regards to beta testers, yeh I've had a number come through super keen to test ( JUST as creator describes), especially in trainsim days. Very frustrating cos some little invertebrate gets your hard work and just says 'Yeh really good' which isn't exactly helpful. The VRC founders were excellent and came forward with a number of issues that were soon remedied.

Your Flip Flop rotor prob is only in the FS9 download , and with a quciker pc it looked more like just a glitch , tried on another , again only FS9 but result very much the same as the UT vid ... maybe the beta tester was watching the political news .........just to many FLIP FLOPS and just thought it was natural .

Always many silly things missed ... many patch and quick fixs ... Alpha will in there quik to fix ... think more blind'd by a double doosey(FS9-FSX) complete releases and different PCs show the problem , ie : Me just how different the fault looks .

I can't remember which post it was on the AS forums I read, but Phil said, with the current sale figures of their seasprite, they won't spend any more time on it. Which to me means, us who bought it and have problems, have basically been left out in the cold with an un-finished addon.

1. I thought I said FS9, and made no mention of FSX whatsoever.
2. Regardless of what type of computer you try it on (high-end, low-end, or no-end at all), the problem is still there. Why should we have to settle for this type of cr@p with the prices they charge? They should FIX this so-called glitch!

Did you see the Maverick being fired off a Seasprite in the paper and TV? It would be great to have the Maverick system from Falcon 4.0 in the FSX Seasprite, I know it would never happen but what a combo.

This is the reason I use Forums. I'd love a couple of Mavericks on my Level D 767...somehow. A couple of LGB's on an Orion is a bit more applicable, though. Thanks for the info,
