Ok- another question now I've solved my haze problem (just needed to RTFM).
When I installed REX Essential, I did it straight over the top of REX2 and thought it was working fine. This was untill I read through the manual yesterday and saw a screenshot of the new 'REXWX' WAsy weather engine that is meant to be running in the background with FSX.
I was had been doing all my configuring through the new essential 'REX.exe' front end and thought it was running correctly, however, it was still booting up the old REX2 ''WASys' weather engine.
Once I realised that, I uninstalled REX2 and REX Essential, then reinstalled REX Essential after a system restart. I was able to reload my settings I'd saved through the REX.exe frontend for REX Essential, however now even though I have 'enable autostart with FSX' checked, it does not autostart. Even if I run REX.exe manually before/after starting FSX, the weather engine does not pop up, nor does it connect with FSX and load weather for me. Also in the 'exe.xml' file inside the Roaming Data > Microsoft > FSX, there is no link to any weather engine .exe file, but still this segment:
- Code: Select all
<Launch.Addon> <Name>Real Environment Xtreme - Weather Engine 2</Name> <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Real Environment Xtreme 2.0\rexwxengine2.exe</Path> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> </Launch.Addon>
All I want to be able to do is have real world weather put straight into FSX with the lovely new REX graphics like I used to with REX2. Could anyone help me out here?
