Great news! groupwave.gif

As I qualify for the discount I may have a hard time resisting this one. However ... I'll have to wait till I can afford Windows7 so I can rebuild my O/S and FSX from scratch. I appear to have totally stuffed my current FSX install trying to get rid of the dreaded OOM messages that appeared out of nowhere (after having run a gazillion addons quite happily for ages).

More than anything, though, it's great to see Robin "back in the saddle" again after his last ... errmm ... "adventure" winkyy.gif

Thanks, guys. I intended to offer Supercity to NZFF members before the store goes 'live', but word seems to have spread. Just a couple of glitches which have or will be fixed:

  • It may not be that clear that the upgrade is a separate 'product', found in the 'upgrades' category, and linked from the main Supercity page. If you qualify for the upgrade, choose the upgrade version.
  • This is a new store, and previous accounts have not been carried over.
  • Those who attempted to purchase the upgrade download from outside New Zealand may have had shipping added -- sorry about that, now fixed.

Thanks for that. I'm certainly feeling better, the last couple of weeks I've really noticed an improvement in my fitness. The main problem is that the rehab nurses tend to act on the safe side -- for instance, I've just completed a 6-week coronary rehab programme, but wasn't allowed to do aerobics with the old folks! Still, since I'm one of the few who hasn't had a good old heart attack, I'm a bit of an unknown quantity.

This week I've started Heart Failure Rehab, which involves an hour at the hospital gym 3 times a week. This is quite fun, but since it's early days I'm almost unable to lift my arms today:) yesterday I met a young kid who'd had a heart transplant 7 weeks ago -- certainly fitter than me, and quite inspiring.

Next week I have an echo, which will show if there's been any improvement in my heart function. They say it is early days, and not to expect much, but I'd like to see some improvement:)

I'm determined to work hard at rehab, which makes a bit of a hole in my working week, what with occasional clinic visits as well. Still, it wouldn't do me any harm to work less hours. A normal new scenery release sees me working 80 hours a week for a couple of weeks, but this time around I've been trying to take it easier.

Hi Robin

Glad to hear you are feeling a getting better ... slow and steady wins the race ...

Just tried out the new scenery for Auckland and may I say "What a masterpiece"!!!!! (Thanks for organizing the payment thing too! smile.gif)

Frame rates superb with your settings ... although i have reduce my autogen a fraction in the .cfg file ...

Couple of small issues with some autogen placed in odd places like a yacht in the middle of the CBD and power pylons in the middle of the freeway ... but hey, the atmosphere with 20 mile vis is EXACTLY as i filmed it coming home from Gisborne on a Q300 ...

This is great work!!

Thanks so much for the hard effort put into this ...!

Warm regards

Doug

Thanks, Doug.
Be aware that pylons and 'simobject' boats are default -- along with road traffic, which doesn't always align exactly either.
I am not too sure how this would go with 'Roads and Rivers' installed. If you use this, let me know.

Ah ha!

Thanks for letting me know!

It did indeed highlight just out of whack the default scenery use to be eh!

Onward and upward eh!

I don't use roads and rivers as yet so cant advise ...

Warm regards

Yes, the default topo needs a going over, but this isn't the job for a 'local' scenery -- it needs to be NZ-wide. With luck there'll be a project which will deal with the topo issues.

Robin,

Congratulations on an awesome product. I absolutely love it. I grabbed the download version because i was too impatient to wait for the CD to arrive and was amazed at the quick download. Within 15 minutes i had it installed and cranking up FSX. Now to try some real VFR flying.

Keep up the fantastic work and i'll always by in line to buy any of your future endeavours.

I have used the twenty meter mesh with this addon and it works fine in my opinion ,it is obviously something not included with the RealNZ addon Supercity and is Produce by another addon Company "RBE"

Yes, you can use any mesh you want. Supercity doesn't interfere with the mesh at all.

Dont know if you know Rob, but the new site is not displaying when you access the site through Google.

It takes you to the old one and Auckland is not in the store.

Also, do you know how long it will take to confirm my order?

I thought I heard somewhere that there could be a 15 metre mesh in development, ah... that's where it was (thinking out loud). Timmo who is working on an enhancement for New Zealand topo is, I believe, working on a 15 metre mesh. Hopefully, if it's a go ahead, this will fix some elevation issues in the terrain. He is expecting to release this side of Christmas. So, ladies and jellyspoons get out your wallets for a great little value packed enhancement for NZ. About time and well done to Timmo for his knowledge and efforts on this intrinsic detailed project.

Yes, the new site isn't officially open yet -- it is just a preview for NZFF members. I'll officially release Supercity next week, and switch over to the new site.

Downloads are normally processed as soon as possible -- some people get them within minutes, depending on whether I'm on duty. Boxes are done early afternoon, in time for the post. At the moment I'm producing CDs as quickly as I can, and I hope to fill all orders today.
