P3D launcher

A big criticism of the LM Prepare 3D is the lack of a proper start menu page whereby the aircraft type, departure airfield, time of day and weather can be preset prior to launch.
This freeware program fixes that. Perhaps a good interim measure until LM creates one of their own (which they should have done long before now).

Now that looks very promising. Just grabbed it for P3D biggrin.gif

This looks really promising and much better than the previously available third party P3D launcher. Nice attractive interface, selection from your aircraft list with thumbnails, set airport and starting position, weather, date and time. Works for FSX as well as P3D. biggrin.gif

Only problem is it fails when loading the flight with a .dll error - MSVCR110.dll missing. ohmy.gif

The developer has been informed by various people on AVSIM. Hopefully he'll issue a fix or workaround as this could be the answer to our prayers as far as starting P3D is concerned thumbup1.gif notworthy.gif clapping.gif

I'm running FSX and P3D concurrently on the same HD. P3D has all the Orbx Australian scenery linked from FSX using their migrator program plus direct installs of NZNI and NZSI. That way I can keep FSX for my VLC install and P3D for Orbx stuff. I've also got some P3D-specific planes installed, the Bronco, Rapide and our old friend the Hudson. Not much, but it's a start and good enough for testing.

I'm holding out for P3D 2.0 and automatic updating. Once that's in place, provided the FSX compatibility is maintained I'll move over entirely to P3D. Not looking forward to reinstalling everything but I've done it before and may have built a new PC by then anyway.

Once I get some time to resume my NZ national tour I'll post some screens from P3D for comparison biggrin.gif

The file is part of Visual C++ 2012 which you may not have on your computer.
It can be found here.

Thanks cowpatz thumbup1.gif

Maarten, the developer has also said he's compiling a new build with the relevant runtime included. Should be out within the next day or so.

I'm looking forward to giving this a try as it's exactly what I've wanted clapping.gif

Now up to version 3.2. Many new features added and bugs fixed. This developer is really proactive.
