Strange! all the hype two years back and it was pulled off the shelf .... mind set thinks why post about the type , maybe someone in the PMDG played with the A2A Stratocruiser and thought the DC-6 required extra attention .Last edited by Ian Warren on Wed Aug 28, 2013 11:18 am, edited 1 time in total.

Wow! It's been a lifetime since i posted in this Forum!
Anyhow a response to your question. I think PMDG have realized where their market lies and to do what THEY do best, 'top of the line virtual imitations of modern airliners'.
I think they understand the small niece market they operate in and to be stepping on toes like A2A who have risen to credibility and reliability just doesn't help the community in general.
Sure A2A or any other developer for that matter isn't in the process of developing a DC-6 (or not to my knowledge at least) but i would be surprised if this wasn't the case.
And to be honest PMDG's communication with their customers leaves alot to be desired, they will only talk when it's on their terms and very rarely will you hear them discussing how or why about company decisions.Chris Maher

The thing that sticks out most , In the real world you run a business a follow the rule "the customer is always right" .... In he world of media and entertainment i think, no many companies need to take a leaf out off A2As book , the personal service and family orientated approach really works .
Seldom do i post at PMDG simply because they won't reply , guess like standing in a shop without any other than the one behind the till .
Regarding the A2A Boeing 377 Stratocruiser on its release, the morning i brought it .... like 2.00AM had just got home from work, Scott Gentile phoned me ! about, well just to say watch for this and watch for that , I was friggen chuffed , thirty minutes later another call , watch for this and remember to have the cowl flaps open slightly on takeoff .
I sure he did not ring everyone in the world , i think i may have been the first registered A2A Strat pilot in the world , now that's what i call customer support !

Bit like some airport security people
... give em a suit and they are Hitler for a day
.... which remind me Chris , Our banner winner James 'goingboeing' .. we are yet to see some off his Boeing B377 screen's, heard on the grapevine thats what he chose

That would be an interesting announcement , lets hope the project is well underway before they say anything
