Not sure what the "A1R" means, I'm assuming that it's the development team, because I cannot find any references to a license built copy referred to as the A1R. Anyway....a payware Yak-50 aerobatic aircraft is out for FSX.
I'm holding off until we find out what Virtavia is releasing, as that has a slight chance of being Russian/Soviet as well.

I do like the YAK but not so much the single seater, been nice had they created the two seater 52 and with the a shared cockpit option, that would have cause some real interest.

Very odd , the "A1R" thing ..... if you google it , you get some links to photos of Як-50 ... but no details of the search term (A1R)

Funny thing is....

I always prefer the tricycle version; the Yak 52....

Paul,

Agreed. I think the Yak-52 would have been more popular, but an addon like this is great to see regardless!

I was in Ashburton airfield, 50 miles south of Christchurch got close and personal to one and caught it in the air doing aerobatics and then ended up in the circuit with it on our return, no sooner I got home week later a brilliant model was released for FS9, much better that the Virtavia model in many areas....and course in New Zealand we almost have a squadron of them smile.gif

Mark Jeffries flew one (ZK-YAC) at Wanaka in 1996, the video of that show was where I first learned of Yaks and Changas. The 50 is a neat machine, I may have to pick this up - the model looks gorgeous!

Dude ... please dont take my thoughts as buyers guide
.I just found the textures a little dull or something ... just not right for me.
I cant comment on the dynamics as ive never flown or seen one flying.

Buy it ... it maybe perfect for you , maybe find a review of it someplace.
Let me know how you get on .

I'd be interested in seeing more screenshots of it since I'm now cautious due to Splitpin's comments. I've looked at this one off and on due to my obvious interest in this sort of thing, but seeing more images certainly would be appreciated in this case.
