Oohhh. Wonder if Rick Piper had anything to do with this one? One of my favourite aircraft. Bit of a surprise as I was eyeing up another Chippy that was been constructed by someone else but I think that is a long way from release. This looks like it is nearly ready to go. Must buy I think .... But so little time.. So little fs money...

For a while now, I've been thinking that we should try and get a physciatrist on board to share the moderating duties.....there's been some pretty weird stuff
going on for a while now....... laugh.gif I think a few regulars here would never be allowed into a "real" cockpit.

laugh.gif Well said Bazza ..... fear not , just keeping it light ..... but tell me , why would you never be allowed in a real cockpit ? you seem relatively stable , in an NZFF sort of way winkyy.gif

I'll consider this one, but there's something about it that's just not sitting quite right for me, and I can't quite put my finger on what's causing it....but the plane just looks a bit too "cartoony" to me. Not sure if it's the modelling or texturing or what.
The closest approximation is if you compare the visuals of the Virtavia Hind vs. the Nemeth Hind for FSX. The Virtavia one looks more "cartoony" to me, but that's as specific as I can get right now.

Also noted that a participant on SOH with DHC-1 experience highlighted a number of errors, and was of course jumped on by the "developers can do no wrong, especially if they are active at SOH" voices at that forum.

I'm 100% with you on the "cartoony look" thing. Unfortunately I found that this pretty much applies to all Justflight aircraft. I think it's caused by a combination of overly saturated textures and they way they create the alpha channels on top. It makes things look like cheap plastic. I had that experience with the Viscount, the DC-3 and the DC-6. Of course this wasn't a problem on the 146 as it was made by CLS.

Yep, in this case the interior looks good to me, but it's just something about at least the texturing that indeed makes it look like a cartoon or plastic.

Just Flight has its own design team now and typically there are others .. AH dose the monky , good example of the how JF are approaching with their models an example is looking at the Canberra and its textures, the Chippy still has changes to be done it , think this is just the opening shots.

The Canberra did catch my attention as a good-looking addon, and it sounds like they've made a point in saying that they put more effort into that one than many of their other models. You can see just an ever-so-slight hint of the JF "artistic style" in it, but it really does look good. Still don't think I'll purchase it as it's not quite in line with the aircraft and type of flying that I'm into most often, but it would definitely be worth considering if I won a contest with a JF prize.

The Canberra is gorgeous , the chippy .. think my purchases lean toward the incoming Phantom, but looking at this Chipmunk I think this one maybe getting back into the photo deal, textures change very quickly once you have the base.

There are certainly quite a few new aircraft scheduled for release over next few months / year.
I'll be curious to see the repaint possibilities for all of these.

They have changed much of the mapping making it so much easier - the DC-8 50/70 is a walk in the park
