GeoImageProcessor mask and bgl scenery Processor

Postby Kelvinr » Sun Jan 20, 2019 6:26 pm

Hi all,

I hope this is the best place to post this.

I have been working on a water and blend masking tool for some time now and is currently in Beta. This basically automates the masking process, and with a single click of a mouse button, you'll have your mask files processed without any intervention from an Image Editor.

My tool, called Geoimage processor, will process both FS Earth Tiles BMP files (you need the areaEarthinf.txt files for this) and Raw Tif files with geocoded data. The tool will process the water mask, blend mask, and resample the final result into the BGL format ready for the sim.

Of course there may be inconsistencies so feel free to give me feedback with any screenshots and i'll go ahead and try to correct issues to accommodate. Bear in mind..... the corrections can also be made manually, to the shapefile (oh and you'll also need the .shx file with the .shp file) using QGIS or another vector editor i.e Global Mapper. The more accurate the shapefile polygons, the better the result will be. However, I have made provisions to adjust the mask files using custom parameters in a config file to help.

There are parameters to adjust the mask distance and blend strength also. So, give it a try and if you have any questions or issues, go over to the FSDev forums or PM me here, or even email me at geosimworks@gmail.com, and I can assist with any issues or queries. Response times may vary because I have a real world job but i'm fairly quick at getting back.

The link to download is over at the FSDev forums.
