Nope, it's a CAR (Civil Aviation Rule) that makes it illegal to record, or rebroadcast, or even listen to and act on information in a transmission not destined for you.

I'm not sure the governing body it is to be honest lol. I was just going off what was said in my Flight Radio book. How you're not allowed to disclose any information about radio transmissions.

Redundant rule really, there's already legislation around that.

Bugger , means i'll have to turn off my radio , one i use that i'm not suppose to use .

The appropriate people have been alerted
A problem they might have with enforcing that is?, is it that it being rebroadcast from offshore which is not governed by NZ law Hence they aren't breaking any laws in NZ, they may need to ask liveatc very nicely to remove the feeds instead of the usual threats from NZALPA to take them to court?.Last edited by HamiltonWest on Wed Aug 28, 2013 3:46 pm, edited 1 time in total.Awesome in NZ

The fact this whole thing is getting thru with the assistance of 2 dodgy MP's (1 without even a registered party at the time and himself not willing to disclose the contents of his emails claiming privacy) smacks of arrogance and the railroading through unsound legislation.
One thing i did do was a TV3 vote against it ' GCSB' bill - simply to see the numbers against it - best part be interesting if it gets past , I've nothing to hide and far as Donkey is concerned .... Over here.... like any govt dipstick the Donkey "do you no who i am" E OR with a smirk

The media already have scanner banks running, if anyone is going to misrepresent a situation will it be:
A. The guy listening in on a steam or
B. The guy who has the job of misrepresenting situations and already has access to the broadcasts anyway?
