Ah, there's the million dollar question - whose hands are the wrong ones? There was a time when I believed that it was basically the hands of anybody in "the west". I've been disabused of that notion for some time now.

Back then tho .... they were called ..... Shhhhsss the F-19 in line with the development and design of the current aircraft of the late 1970s the Shhsss the F17 cobra come F18

Perhaps we could ask the Iraqis, Afghans and the Vietnamese? Maybe they could shed some light... Unfortunately, all the major world powers are quite happy to meddle in other people's affairs when it suits them, how it suits them. All that seems to vary is how much they try to hide it / take credit for it, and whether "the world" decides the meddling is good or bad. I'd say the world has "a lot" of problems right now. Fiscal cliff, anyone? (now there's a problem "made to order" if ever there was one). Not to mention the host of "revolutions" and "tensions" the world over that never seem to go away. I bet the Chinese, Russians, French and American MIC make a few bob off all the "fun" being had day in and day out.

Ian - have you got an exhaustive list of wars / conflicts of the last 100 years, and who the main players / backers were / are? I'd say that would make an interesting read if one could get actual, truthful data on who started what, where & why, and who was pulling levers behind the scenes and / or supplying the weapons.

I have a list from 1900 to 1985 , between that period there was 485 wars , the series "WAR IN PEACE" volumes 1-10 only cover 200 in detail and again only up to 1985 .. you then start collecting the data and numbers since then ... phewy ! ... This dose not cover the two World Wars because anything between was suppose to be PEACE

A further quick count and scan and post later - quite a few pages .. 83 considered the most volatile again up to 1985

EDIT: Pulled volume one out , its 485 wars between 1945-1983
