Postby Splitpin » Sun Feb 19, 2017 5:47 pm

Real off topic ... but I like to share the love :D I was heading to the lantern festival in the park tonight but is a bit damp and that poxy north east wind is awful ... so I went to the local Thai food place , got an extra large veggie Pad Thai with extra peanut sauce, and I'm about to deal to it while I watch the new Bourne movie on dvd ....... just saying
Have a good night team

Well ... I'm full as a bull
The movie was good ... but I have a hell of a time with the sound .. everyone seems to be mumbling.

I can see another movie (Bourne) on the horizon ... this one finished wide open.
My goodness those Thai folks down the road are generous with their servings ... still have enough left for a big lunch on Monday.

Its a funny old do....

I regularly have highly-coloured pamphlets posted through my letter box showing a variety of Chinese Restaurant fare!

I spend hours sat on my "throne" looking at the various offers, and trying to figure out what it all means.

Chinese food is completely different from that which my dear old Mum fed us in England!

With a variety of descriptions of the various contents of the Chinese meal, I fear that should I take a chance, I would end up with something I didn't like...money wasted!!

The ingredients don't bear any similarity to what we English Folks eat every day for our main meals!

...I cant figure out what half of them are!.... :o ....!

Indian Curries, I can cope with, mainly consisting with either Chicken or Beef, and a variety of simple, hot spices, to excite the taste buds (and remove the top of my head!).... ...!

.....whereas "Chines Food" is a complete and utter mystery to me, probably containing stuff that is banned by UNESCO, Animal Welfare, and the Fire Department.... .... ....!

I watch "Border Patrol" on the TV, at the Australia and New Zealand Airports, and the strange food stuff that the Chinese, etc, attempt to bring into the country in their luggage, leaves me with amazement...
...the sort of stuff that would leave me short of stature, and with poor eyesight!... ;) ...!
(Good for budding musicians, tho').... :wink2: ...!

Its similar to the S/W USA preference for Mexican food. (More funny stuff!)... ...!

For me; its Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding, together with assorted Vegetables and Bisto Gravy!

Straight forward stuff, prepared and cooked in Heaven (my Kitchen).... ....!

Paul...Just had a typical English Sunday Roast Dinner!....Food for the Gods!.... ....!

The results of consuming an excess of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc, food...>>> http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-39019390

Ian....

In 1955, in the British Army, (REME), I had the choice of Hong-Kong, Singapore, or Germany, for my deployment!

I chose Germany.......and Sausage and Sauerkraut... :D ...!

Closer to home, and home visits twice a year!

...and I didn't want to be in the bleedin' Military anyway!...(Conscription!)... ...!

Paul...never did like Guns and shooting things.... ...!

.... :D ....!
