The A340 was the most elegant design since the Comet 4. The -500 version seemed just right, to me. The -600s are just a tad too long in front. Great pic

I'll take your word for that Captain ...they are big aren't they . BTW the ATR fest (lads photos ) is on the way .... had a few things get in the way , but I'm onto it.

Hehe - a normal flare would probly put the cockpit outside the approach minima. And as Lindstrim points out, all the 4-engined airliners of that era are very leisurely at take-off, compared to those big 777s and the like, which really only need one engine to get off the ground.
