I'm talking about the infamous b100d today. Pictured here enroute from Wellington to Timaru this afternoon, with real world weather set up. 15 pics, 1.02mb:

*Sigh*
It's not just that it is ugly, which it undeniably is.
It looks like a design mistake.

They started with this, but then had to add about a dozen strakes, winglets, fences, straps, and bits to fix the previous bits.

It looks like it was designed by a committee

Great screenshots as ever, though.

Yep but having them is a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to maintain than having computers do their job (improve ride etc) like on Metros..

And the winglets look good!! angry.gif laugh.gif

huh.gif What have you done!

That looks horrible, reminds me for some reason, of a skinny newborn lamb that hasn't grown a fleece yet laugh.gif

I actually quite like the 1900D having travelled on them myself. My favourite part is sitting right up front because there's no cockpit door you can see everything! Take a headset with you and you can listen into everything if your in seat 1F which has a headset plug (just check with pilots first).

Did you know that the 1900D doesn't have an Autopilot?????I didn't until a friend of mine from ANZ pointed out they only have a Flight Director and no AP, so the pilots have to hand fly it. Apparently when Eagle Airways got the Beech they opted not to get APs because of the cost.

Yeah I heard that before, I guess is isn't that bad around NZ where the routes they fly are relativly short and can be sorted with a bit of trim. However, my PMDG model comes with autopilot included which makes things a lot easier tongue.gif

I quite like the look, it's like they bolted on every extra wing surface they could - a bit of pimping going on!

I have flown in these many times though, and I find them the worst plane to fly in (sorry Chris). Noisy, uncomfortable seats and bounce all over the place. I don't care that you can see the pilot's shoulders and centre console tongue.gif The worst ever was a long droning trip from Timaru to Wellington. All I wanted to do was walk up to the cockpit and ask the pilot to turn the engine off for some peace and quiet!

Noisy?
Ever been in a Saab? tongue.gif

But I agree i don't like flying in them. They're so dark because of the tiny tinted windows. And I did find my flight rough, i thought it was just the weather..
Actually, it must've been the weather, there was a 40kt Northerly on approach into Wellington laugh.gif
