Crash to Desktop

I tried re-ordering my Scenery Libary to make the old Godzone mesh appear with my new RBE mesh and topo, so it is now in this order:

Photoreal
Top
Mesh
Landclass

Everytime I load up a flight, the loading bar gets to 50%, hangs for about 2 minutes then crashes to the desktop!

What have I done wrong to make this happen?

How can I fix it?

Hi Trolly

This is tough one. The answer is that is SHOULD work. The crash suggests that there is a texture conflict in your FS9 install somewhere and usually, the easiest is a complete reinstall of FS9 since this sort of conflict is incredibly hard to find.

I really wish the scenery engine of MSFS would be a lot smarter in regards to adding add-ons, so errors like this could be easily tracked.

What you could also try is VOZ your FS9 and then UNVOZ. Maybe that'll fix it.

Let me know if you can resolve it. Good luck!

Cheers,
Christian

I had this exact problem, a complete reinstall of FS9 then RBE then VOZ(all 3 VOZ's).This is time consuming but did the trickfor me.

This is going to sound a bit like facing east and beating a tomtom with a feather in your ear...
Start the sim and create (not load previous) a Cessna at Seattle.
Fly, save, and exit.
It has worked in the past for me on some CTD.
Don't ask.

Yes, a good test is to see if you can load the sim from an existing flight. If so, it's your default flight which is damaged. This is quite common, I remember Ian Warren pointing this fix out to me when I had this trouble.
