Grumman Goose Collection

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Now I know this is meant to be a New Zealand themed forum, but I will make an exception for myself just this once, as the following set of screenshots display what I think is the best free VFR scenery outside of Godzone.

I am of course talking about the 'Columbia River Gorge and Cascade Volcanoes' package which can be found on AVsim here which was recently discussed here at NZFF in a separate thread: http://z11.invisionfree.com/nzff/index. ... wtopic=330

Anyway, the reason I went on a screen capturing bonanza was to introduce one of my newer downloads to the world, Lynn and Bill Lyons' Custom Classics Grumman G-21 Amphibian Goose (Found at AVsim under the name cc9g21f2.zip).

The aircraft is incredible to fly. When you are in the VC, it makes the sim feel so much more than just a game. The detail of the model is just amazing, both inside and out. I took about 300 shots on a 40 minute flight just cruising around VFR styles this evening, but what follows is only 11 preview images (1.37mb worth) of what is up for offer from this download.

Hope you liked them.

One more thing- are there are G-21's flying in NZ currently? Would anyone here be keen to paint this freeware model up with a real life (past or present) ZK- rego?

Cheers

According to the CAA's website there aren't any G-21s currently on the register, however there are two G-44 Widgeon turboprop conversions, ZK-AVM and ZK-CFA, both privately owned in Auckland by the same owner.

Howdy,

Sorry to dredge up an old post, but this one kinda slipped under the radar  ...

- are there are G-21's flying in NZ currently?

Unfortunately, no. :(

Would anyone here be keen to paint this freeware model up with a real life (past or present) ZK- rego?

There is only one NZ Goose repaint (to date): ZK-DFC (Seabee Air) by Robin Ritchie. Should still be available from either AvSim, Flightsim, Simviation, or Sim-Outhouse.
Regards,
Dorian
