Well, now it is officaly summer and all, no doubt we will all have some 'free' time off doing whatever we do, and if you are like me, you might have planned some sim flights for that time.

Mine are:
-> Trans Tasman Endurance Challenge (Okiwi to Port Maquire in a Cessna overnight)
-> Somewhere in Norway to somewhere in Finland- bsmp Saab 2000
-> London to Boston, my first Trans-Atlantic hop in 747
-> Perth to La Reunion, in another heavy- properly a 777 or 747
-> Kansai (Osaka) to Christchurch (only if I have lots of free time), recreating a real world flight I flew aboard a ANZ 767
-> Auckland to Norfolk Island- to test out my 'old school' ANZ 737-200 :P
-> Rotorua to Whangerai- ANZ old Embraier link
-> Dunedin to Wellington- I need to find myself an ANZ ATR for this
-> Auckland to Wellington- FFX 737, recreate a real world route, and test those airbiridges again!
-> Queenstown to Wellington, in a the BSMP Saab 2000, which is currently getting painted in fictional ANZ colours

So, what are everyone elses' plans?

Trans-tasman Endurance Challenge
Nelson-Auckland, hopefully in a Dash 8 if someone releases one for FSX
Perhaps a super-long haul one night in a 777

I fly mostly airline flights, and given at VPA I can fly anything, I have flown a number of great flights, and have many ideas of what I have really enjoyed in my last 1300 odd hours at VPA..

So some recommendations for your lists of "things to fly" from my beloved Boeings..

KMIA (Miami) to TNCM (Princess Juliana), American Airlines B757-200
Fly from the huge AA hub down to arguably the BEST airport in the world. Make sure you fly over the Bahamas onroute.

LGIR (Heraklion, Greece) to LOWI (Innsbruck, Austria), Austrian Airlines fly their B767-300ER into this airport with one of the trickiest approaches in Europe. High mountains, small strip and big aircraft makes for a fun landing. Flying over the Greek Islands is fun on the way out.

PHTO (Hilo) to PHNL (Honolulu) on this short flight in the Hawaiian Islands. FEDEX do this flight a couple of times a week in their MD11, flight number 1806. I doubt you'll find a more attractive flight, in such a big aircraft, on such a short route.

KSEA (Seattle) to (PAJN) Juneau, Alaska- Fly to the capital of Alaska, another airport surrounded by high mountains and beautiful coastlines. An Alaska B737-900 or B737-400 will get you there. Fabulous views of British Columbia on route.

PAFA (Fairbanks, Alaska) to PABR (Barrow, Alaska) Pack warm clothes! It's winter in Alaska, throw a glass of hot water in the air it will freeze before it hits the ground. Alaska operate their B737-200s here all year round. It'll be a dark flight, but this time of year you are likely to catch the aurora borealis outside your windshield.

NZAA- NZQN - Back home, take the Air NZ B737-300 into Queenstown. A fabulous hand flown arrival into NZQN, views of Mt Taranaki on route, Nelson, and the Southern Alps. The best of home..

for me....

Werever the wind takes me :P

I'm gana do as much flying as possible this summer (parent permiting) maby fly around the world in the LDS 767 once I buy it lol

I want to try and learn as much as possible about all the differant counties and flying many diffarant sorts of aircraft (big loud ones of course).

My biggest goal is to cross the atlantic, once I have the LDS ill be able to follow the nat tracks with the FMC.

Just remember, if your going for a flight and want someone to join you, im always delighted to come :P

May it be a summer of clear skies and smooth landings

LOWI (Innsbruck, Austria)

Ahh yes, a very tricky but very fun approach to fly! I was introduced to the area by another member here, Hinch, who likes to fly in that region, and managed to land a 737-400 there, just!

There is a great freeware mesh addon available on AVSIM for the area which really enhances the flight, a must have for Innsbruck.

Also, if you search Aliners.net for LOWI, there is a random picture of an Air New Zealand DASH-8 there...

Trans Tasman Endurance Challenge (Okiwi to Port Maquire in a Cessna overnight)

omg... i didnt realise this was to Port Macquarie... I am totally there... I lived/worked in Port for almost 2 years up until Jan 2005...

Still have some fond (and some not so fond) memories of that little seaside town...

The Dash8 ride in during summertime afternoon thunderstorms was awesome :)

nothing planned as yet. my brother is addicted to WoW so it's difficult to get flight time...
i'd quite like to do NZAA-NZCH-NZQN as that's what i'm going to do at xmas.
but first priority is finishing my ANZ repaint for the default 747 in FSX

Oh, and I'd also quite like to explore Papa New Guinea.

I was given a CD with mesh for the country a while ago, and have yet to install it.

I bet it will make for some great bush flying adventures, particularly with the VOZ North textures installed!

it's mostly done, i just need to finish off the doors, the night paint and the grey on the underside of the aircraft
this is the first aircraft i've repainted, so i can't compare this repaint to any other. it has a few difficulties, for sure.

Always try Avsim.com or Flightsim.com first, when looking for a particular plane. Flightsim.com is also good if you just type 'All' and search for a particular type of aircraft.

Here's your 737-200.

Here's an epic journey.

Federal Express MD-11.

Memphis (KMEM) to Hong Kong Kai Tak (VHHX) then further on to Subic Bay (Philippines).

Total time around 15-20 hours approx.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.
