Armed Assault

Well the other day I downloaded Armed Assault demo and tried it out. Absolutely brilliant from what I've seen so far. Comparing it to Operation Flash point there is much better graphics and sound FX. You can hear the crack thump more realistically and the direction of incoming fire is quite noticable with 5.1 speakers if you have them. The enemy AI seems a bit improved and are a bit more challenging to take out. They actually respond better than in OFP in the face of contact they tend to go prone(unlike OFP where sometimes they would run around)
Demo is about 845MB plus there is a patch, Arma hasn't been released yet in NZ although you can purchase it online(German version) which can be patched to make it english. The realism isn't quite as high as Americas Army with its weapons stoppages and the boredom that accompanies shooting on the range but it is vastly better than OFP- Resistance and all of the latest mods.
BTW the latest mod for OFP-Resistance FFUR 2007 has just been released as well.

Awesome- any ideas when it will be released in NZ?
Im a big fan of OFP.....especially since it kinda 'came in under the radar' and took everyone by surprise with how good it was (ie. there was little hype before it was released)

I'm not sure however you can purchase the German version online and convert it to english with a patch. BTW I took the HIP for a spin and it looks as though the same FM for the helicopters as OFP and still no HOTAS support. The armoured vehicles are a bit better though.
