what sort of aircraft are you flying brownbox? Complex VCs, some ai traffic models and all that scenery objects could make things a little slugish.. But your specs are rather good...

Maby do a reinstall of fs9 but dont install anything other than a few aircraft then do spend some time testing thigns and slowly add bits and peices back in. Doing a reinstall of fs is a litte point less if you add all the same stuff back in straight away. ;)

Also lower your resolution, fs is capable of all these high reses but you need some very fancy hardwarew to be able to too use em, I find 1024x768 (my desktop res, I run fs windowed) works just fine :D

I think you might have just summed up the answer to your problem B.B :)
"all my addon airports"
They can be particularly hard on computers. Especially so with AI and bad weather turned on. I have had to uninstall NZAA and NZCH from my computer due to being too hard on fps. Ian's freeware Wellington wasn't too bad, but I can't comment on any of your other airports. If your fps are normal whenever the airport is not in view (eg side views) then it's safe to say your computer is struggling with the airports themselves, and from my experience, that's the fault of the scenery, not your computer. Try a good airport that is easy on the computer for comparison, like the freeware NZQN. Then you can test if it's "airports in general" or particular airports that cause the problem.

Eeep! Albatross pointed out a good one tho, AI Traffic. Esp at busy airports this can be a problem, particularly if using old Project AI V1 models and early days FSPainter models and alot of them! They can really chew up your frames aswell.

yes, its definately the airports. With the FPS limited to 70 (as usual) this is the results)

Sitting in the middle of the ocean= 70FPS
Sitting at NZAA from Auckland 2005 package, with all AI turned on= 15FPS
" " " " with AI turned off=16FPS
" " " " in "grey and rainy"=15FPS

At NZAA with weather on clear, AI turned off, and midday=17FPS

Definately the airports B)

yes its that scenery 2005 ,i installed it awhile back and i got some really bad frames on the 6600 card so uninstall that scenery package and just had robins one in and went back up to 25 easy soild ,then ive just done a reinstall and with a new card 7600gt nzreal aa can run at like 25 still but looking at it while im flying in to auckland i get like 13 jar jar ,this is weird to me ,
now yes i go out to sea and with unlimited flps i have seen 130 ,but still i get the jar jar ,then ive locked them as low as 20 and same jar on the turn ,
ive tryed also the screen res ,no difference ,i have no ai or water settings and agn & scenery complex is down to normal,ive even turned the clock speed up to see and nah nothing gets the jar out {drivers already done those }
anyone got some older drivers that really worked well for the 7600gt nivida, ive tryed the latest and the .73 ones ??
edit :just recomend and ill find them for download thanks

be nice to get this stuff sorted sooner the better

Another frame killer that comes to mind now at airports is the "Airport Environment Upgrade" package. Do you use that at all? I removed those textures due to poor performance as well.

Dont forget if you have Auckland 2005 scenery or Rob Diebolds rehash to use with RealNZ then it was designed for FS2000 and FS2002 originally.
