If you are running a dual core processor you may wish to check this post out.

I have tried the modified batch file & have it working on CPU1 now. Have still to do some testing to see how good the results are.

Despite the words in the avsim thread I find that FSX has considerably better FPS with a Dell laptop 2ghz core duo, 2gb ram with an x1400 video card than with a destop with P4 3.2HT processor 1gb ram and 7600GS video card. I lknow that it is difficult to compare the two but I have FSX installed in both computers and tweaked in exactly the same way. With the core duo I get typically well above 20fps whilst with the P4 not much above 15fps.

Will be interested to see the results of your modifications.

This is very interesting, I tried it out and it appears that I am getting 3-4FPS more than I was. This is an initial test only so will have more of a play when time permits.

I wonder what this would do for FS9?

I would hazard a guess and say that 2GB RAM vs 1 GB will be part of the reason the laptop shows better performance.

My FSX is average on my PC with 1GB Ram but I plan to upgrade to2. Once done it will prove one way or another my theory !!!
