Here's another (I know this ain't the right thread for jokes, but its a fun way for people to read some radio chatter)

Baron 58 pilot "Seattle tower, FTG (Foxtrot Tango Golf). Both engines running rough. Request immediate clearance for runway 08"

Tower"FTG,Seattle tower.Make left base runway 08. Clear for the visual approach. number 2 for landing"

Baron 58 pilot"Say again seattle.........number 2?????"

Tower" Affirmative....follow the B52 on long finals"

Baron 58 pilot "Seattle, FTG. I'm losing alot of power here request number 1 for landing order"

Tower "Negative FTG. The B52 has decleared an emergency. He has lost an engine"

Baron 58 pilot "Dear God No!!! You mean he's going to have to make the dreaded 7 engine approach????" :D

I'll post some others......but not in this thread

Hi Team.

On thursday Alex will control Christchurch tower from 7-8pm. From 8pm onwards Tim (Zoltuger) will control Christchurch. I'll take care of NZDN from 7pm onwards. Thanks for joining the ATC team Alex :)

Just a quick note for anyone feeling uneasy about communicating with ATC - One of the best things you can do is inform us when you join the server that you are still learning. That way we can help you out as best we can :D If your really struggling or really lost then get in touch with Jon or myself before thursday to arrange a joint cockpit flight.....Its one of the best ways to learn :D

good luck Alex, I logged on as twr when I first tried the multiplayer but practicly got told to go, or more plainly I was ignord <_< But I noticed the scope is extremly difficult to use, none of the stuff we get in ivac! the view and modeling up in the tower is brilliant thow, seeing the traffic must really add to the reaslisum of a gnd controller..

Anyone know of a way I can conect to the session in fs9? any special voice clients and stuff like that?

it's irritating when people ignore the tower. it's mainly the people who don't have microphones who do it, since they can't communicate their intentions.
and thanks Alex for filling in for me, 1900 is dinner time in these here parts

I'm sure in PC Pilot in the Multiplayer section of the review they talk about a way to do this Jimmy, have a read and see. I would but my copy isn't here. This is what I alluded to when we chatted last.

oh yup:

"The FSX/Gamespy interface will only conect to other FSX sessions, soif you want to include FS9 users, you will need to use an external client such as the freeware FSHost (www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost), which at the time of writing is avalible in beta formfor FSX-FS9 links. Be aware though, this conection works outside the FSX/GameSpy network and you will not have access to features such as shared cockpit and ATC."

So its not possible to conect to a gamespy session with fs9. I'll jsut wait to get a better system later in the year :P

Well, I've at least figured out how to join lol Though it was a bit of a fluke I think. I think I can hear you guys chatting, but no idea what the chat button is.. Hopefully I can figure that out by thursday. I'll definately be there, as will my friend Jason as far as I can confirm at this time.

Caps lock will let you be heard, just make sure you tune your comm1 freq to tower or you wont hear anything :)

I'll have to turn down my sound. I could hear talking, but the engines were kind of drowning things out. It's a shame you can't adjust half your settings whilst in multiplayer.... :(

depends if the server allows you to change the settings
I think it's ridiculous that you have to have speech volume on full and engine noise practically off to hear other people. maybe this bug will be solved in the upcoming service pack.

Yeah, the problem with FSX sound is they haven't really done a good job of emulating the effect of wearing a headset, :o so everything sounds the same volume

mind you, if you have a USB headset, you can have voice going into that, and aircraft noise coming from your speakers. pretty nifty, but i don't have a USB headset...

It is possible to do this if you have two sound cards. I'm trying to get my headset to only output voice while having the speakers output engines etc.... I haven't quite figured out how to do this yet.....but I'm working on it :)

hmm its a shame the nzffac never did anything like this...I was just thyinking how itd be nice have a weekly event like this for fs9 users.... nzffac online night sorta thing woud have been great..

I wounder how long this will last.....

If you find the atc get bored and no one wants to do atc some time in the future id be happy to give that a go as its far easier on my system than flying... the view from the tower is suprising realistic in fsx.
