Controls Too Twitchy

Latly I have been noticing my aircraft controls to be really twitchy, not just one one plane, but everything I fly (Default 172, Maule, Aero Commander etc). I had a look in my realisum settings and put all the flight model tollerance sliders right back to easy, re calibrated my joystick (cheap $50 DSE one, perhaps it has gone past it's sellby date?), and reset all the control sessitivities to default yet, I am still finding things twitchy.

This is particually noticable when climbing or descending, with my aircrafts nose always bouncing up and down spontainisly. This happens in clear WX conditions with no wind or turbulance set.

Any ideas what is happening and how I can solve this?

Yeah i have the same problem- Its my joystick (also a cheap one) and can be really annoying flying fixed wing a/c with no auto pilot....Try increasing your null zone settings which will ignore inputs around the centre of the joystick axes.

This will mean you will have to move the joystick more to pitch up/down etc......

Im going to buy a new joystick i reckon and convert my old one into a Collective control for choper flying

try adding

stick_sensitivity_mode=0

to the [controls] section of your fs9.cfg file which is located in C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

Thanks for tip Ran, although by adding that line, it made my elevator and airleron controls nearly compleatly useless, only functioning at a tiny fraction of the percentage they used to..?

Timmo, I tired increasing my nullzones but it still happens. How far up the slider do you suggest for each axis?

Also, does anyone know what these lines mean in the fs9.cfg:

KBDRUD=64

Trolly, I would assume they are the sensitivities of the keyboard controls of the ailerons, rudder and evelators.

While you are on the subject of "twichy controls" does anyone have a "fix" in FS9 to replicate the nosewheel steering sensitivity found in FSXX??

well im not sure....but the basic idea is to separate the joystick handle and base and remount the base onto my chair, make a longer collective stick (say 60-80cm long) and then reattach the joystick handle to the end. Then make a bracket so i can adjust the friction of it....and viola....hopefully ill have a collective

The joystick only cost 30 bucks so no worries if it doesnt work

As mentioned above, You may need to max your joystick sensitivities, and perhaps recalibrate using FSUIPC if you are using it.

Perhaps you should forget about a new graphics card for now and buy a wicked joystick say...the X52pro mmm

Or perhaps the Ch yoke woudl be a good investment since your doing real training now? and then ruder pedals, Iv read of ppl that have saved many hours practicing things by practicing in ther sim (such as x wind landings,,)
