But then you'd have to have it do 'forced landings'! Pilots who 'thrash' their engines tend to make a few of them I'm told. However it could be that the Aeroclub instructor just wanted to frighten me into being extra careful with their planes. I've been with other pilots who fly along with full power continuously, especially when I'm paying for the fuel I've noticed!

Hi Charl

Canterbury Aero clubs planes r wrong. I used to fly ZK-EBP and don't ever remember having to fold up the landing gear.. just seems like u took moore care doing the North Isalnd than the south... don't get me wrong it's great work that u guys have been doing and enjoy having light aircraft in the skys with me..

Thanks for your help

It's a trade-off with the Piper models - there simply aren't good AI models available to cover all the many variants.
The decision was made to match the windows for the overall look.
Most of the time you see them on the ground, so landing gear is lower down the list.
The Massey planes have the same issue.
HTAI have accurate Pipers in the works, but this is a long way off.

Also, the next release will have some more Cessna's to redress the imbalance.
No less care in the south, just the best we can do in the time available, with available models and paints.

Hi Charl,

Any more news on this 'One GNZLAP Pack to rule them all'? I am in the process of planning for a WinXP (maybe Vista?) reinstall and thought it would be a good idea to get FS back to where it SHOULD be...

So I am busy gathering up VOZ, VOZAI, Mesh's & Scenaries and the like so I will have everything ready to go for my NinjaFS :ph43r:

And of course, it wouldnt be complete without GNZLAP, so I dont feel lonely wandering around NZAR... but I would rather wait for the 'all in one' pack so I dont have to download->install->tweak->fiddle->download->install->tweak->fiddle etc.

cheers,
HCP

Lots to do so little time to do it...
BUT: It's in hand, I just have to do all that install->tweak->fiddle->download->install->tweak->fiddle etc. on your behalf B)
I'm actually awaiting a computer delivery too, before I do.

Awesome... its sooooo much easier when someone else has to do it  :D ;)

But dont feel like I am trying to rush you... I am not in toooo much of a hurry as I am currently being a bit silly (and trying to see how ruthlessly Xtra monitor this stupid 700meg cap between 4pm and Midnight on Go-Large) and downloading VOZ 1.1, 1.2, 1.21 & VOZ 1.3, VOZAI 1.1 & 1.15, all 33 files of Andy Weirs freeware mesh for Oz etc. etc.

Hi there,

Notice that this package is now available over at Avsim. Just wondering if, as a wee assist to us poor dial-up users, whether you intend to release a "lite" version, with only those aircraft and plans, that are new (ie not already covered in Pks 1-4)

Many thanks

The 5.0 pack overwrites everything and in so doing, fixes a myriad of little glitches.
Not least, the callsigns have all been modified to a three-letter version which is more authentic, and voicepack mods are included.
All in, it makes a great flying package.
I'd bite the bullet and download overnight.

Nice one guys - can't wait to get it installed! - I am on dial up and use a download manager - this makes things easier - I have downloaded files of up to 130mb so 60mb is no problem

Aye, I use one also. Just wanted to check there wasn't going to be a "lite" package, before embarking on the download.

Typical Jock, I was trying to save electricity!!

Cheers

Fortuitious timing, indeed. Spent most of Easter updating my NZ ai with all the new airline timetables out there and you release Pack 5.

Many thanks, Charl. A job very well done.

Just finished downloading GNZLAP 5.0, just purchased the HTAI model ($21.48NZD), I'm just about to reinstall FS9 and all of my add-ons and hopefully in a day or two once this is done, I can fly - fly like the wind....
