Wow, that is a beaut, haven't seen a control tower with such smooth lines for ages, shame that ugly beast is in the way of us having a decent look... <_<

Some great pics guys! Are ANZ really switching away from 73's for AB's? Wouldn't surprise! That company makes one stupid decision after another! When you're spending someone elses money(yours) they get it wrong and say 'oh well'
Too much corruption with AB for me! what else are they hiding and telling lies about? Why can't they wire up an aeroplane properly? Especially one that is fly by wire? There have been a number of AB crashes put down to that the damn thing is too computerized and too clever for it's own good! It needs a FS junkie at the controls as we have to be both pilots and computer competent (very)
How many of us are ambidextrous with our joysticks? I'm certainly not but that's what you'd better be if you want to fly AB's! That stick is probably for emergencies when the computer can't or won't fly and land it for you. Many pilots have said 'we're supposed to be Pilots not computer operators. And since they get to do so little flying just sitting there they must get rusty with their flying skills.
Whos been watching Bomber Crew on Sunday arvo's? See how the AB Captain
was not as good at flying the Harvard as the novice to begin with!
It's going to AB 380 vs Boeing 787 Dreamliner. I know which looks better and will be more versatile. What happens when a 380 has to divert? How far to the next airport that can handle it? Remember it's by bus you'll be arriving at the airport you paid to land at. The 380 looks like a flying cattle truck! Mooooooooooooooo
2 wrongs don't make a right but 2 Wrights made an aeroplane!

I disagree. Air NZ are pretty savvy when it comes to aircraft purchases. Heck, the only reason they have the A320 is because it was a cancelled order, and the 737-300's were the last off the production line, and Air NZ is the 787-9 launch customer. So Air NZ buys whatever's cheapest at the time B)

haha sad thign is I didn't even notice that at first  It could happen thow.. I can see myself doing such a thing

Jon, howd you get so close to the 340? Was it parked at gate 35 by the fence? or you got really good zoom :P

I agree with you Codge, in a way flying could almost become dangerous in a situation were the pilot must handfly.. Especialy if they loose systems in a A380 thousands of miles from a suitible field! At least in this part of the world they must still handfly landings, due to the lack of suitable ils ground equipment...

Well just by way of a wrapup, all you "I ain't going" dudes.
Have you EVER been offered the option of aircraft you fly?
And, if it turned out not to be your Boeing, would you forget about the surfing holiday and stay home?
Come now, you can tell the truth here... <_<

You're quite right Charl, you don't get a choice.
But let me retell this story: I've only flown on an Airbus twice in my life, both were Ansett A320's- one was the scariest flight I've ever been on. When the lights flicker on and off a few times taxiing before take-off, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence in your aircraft.

Hey

I would rather push a Ford than drive Holden.

That applies to Air and Boeings.

Boeing for me not an Airbus

Have a look here.

I don't really care, I like different planes from both companies.
I don't think the A380 is ugly.

a-380 is just a new generation jumbo people swing more towards the 747 as its a peace of plane history the a-380 just needs to get up and runing before we say its not good
