I decided to avoid the famous WW2 aircraft, and use the "Spit Fire" idea
So this is a USAF A10 Thunderbolt taking part in live fire exercises with the New Zealand Army under the sleeping slopes of Mt Ruapehu. Maybe one day we'll be friends with the Americans again and we might see something like this..

It is a fine plane, if only a little redundant in FS2004 (ask SUBS17 ;) )

In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

I know Trolly had intended this to be all WWII spitfires NOT spitting fire but he never said "it has to be a spitfire" he has said "6) This month's theme is 'Spitfire' ... how you interpret that is up to you, there are plenty of freeware models available, as well as payone ones.. be creative!"

Like in last months competition he said there are two "rotations" here he has said (as i interpret it, correct me if I'm wrong) As long as it has something to do with "SPITFIRE" it is allowed. Does this have anything to do with spitfire? "I am about to go and SPIT FIRE"
So unless I am corrected what mine and other people's submissions are completely valid.
I DO agree about your argument and my main reason for doing mine was my download problem. If made to i will change my post on the 20th or something when the internet is reset

i too agree, but i cannot find a good freeware spitfire, tried several and so far i am not happy, hence my alternate "spit fire"

--->jastheace: Try this http://www.theheavenlyhangar.com/READMO ... tm#seafire

It's the Naval version of the Spitfire. I have it' and is really pleased.

--->Trolly: In the rules topic, you says that February has 31 days. I'm sure it only has 28 days this year.

My entry:

I totally disagree with you Jimmy, the theme is 'spitfire', I persoanlly am not even considering using the Spitfire aircraft for my entry. Its quite clear, how we choose to interpret 'spitfire' is up to us, no where does it say we must use the spitfire aircraft.

As for your vote, the competition is about the best screenshot, I'm disappointed you would vote by aircraft type rather than the value of the work people present creatively.

I personally will continue to vote for the best screenshot, and what I have seen to date tells me people are being really creative and are thinking well outside the square, jastheace for example and the A10 over Ruapehu, brilliant, so keep them coming guys.

Just to clear things up- the screenshot you enter does not have to contain a spitfire aircraft! 'Spitfire' is only the theme of the competition, and how that is interpret that is completely up to you.

Sure, I expect the majority of the entries to contain Spitfires, but not ever single one. Let creativity guide you- I like what I am seeing so far

And johanfrc, thanks for the notice! I have changed that rule now, saying that you must have signed up before the end of January to be able to enter! Cheers.

good point., I just thought it was obvies it had to be the aircraft, now that trolly has cleared the point up I shant hesistate to vote for a non spitfire if that is what I concive to be the best entry..

no offence intended in my previos post, some of those screenies are really great
