Virtual Planepics

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Kelburn » Fri Apr 13, 2007 10:10 am

I know that Virtual Planepics went under but are there any other websites like it?
(like an airliners.net website for flight simulator)

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

does anyone know much about web design e.g. enabling a search engine like that on Virtual Planepics and a place to store pictures that can be searched and viewed etc.
I think I've got a slight idea. I just need to find someone who knows how to do this.

I had a little look around, and Airliners.net say that their search engine database is powered by MySQL. I'm not too sure about a place to store the pictures though, sorry.
If you're looking for a 'free' search engine, you could always try something very basic like Google Site Search :) .

Regards,
Matt :)

The real problem would be storage and server space and the implementation of the code for the uploading, archiving and eventual retrieval of the images. Don't be fooled, its no walk in the park. ;)
