Somewhat misleading, since it depends on the plane of polarisation, ie you might need to rotate your head 90 degrees. :blink:

Also, it only applies IF you have instruments in your cockpit that are polarised. Generally not true for VFR GA.

Even if you did, it's no worse than partial panel... (unless you have a glass-only cockpit, of course)

Besides, if you're flying VFR, what are you doing looking at the instruments? ;)

Just about any kind of sunglasses will be fine but its the old "take em up and try em out" principle at work.

Also, avoid glasses that have colour tint. I flew one cross country flight with orange tinted glasses and was wondering why my map didnt have roads on it (the orange tint cancelled out the brown of the roads on the map) :)

Finally, as everyone knows, real aviators wear military helmets! :) Seriously, consider getting your own headset as this could affect the types of sunglasses you can wear comfortably.
