Interesting scenarios Zolt,

Yeah I think your point C will be the one in my opinion... Although I think Virgin will still try regardless of how well Kiwi does... As for Ozjet operating as Ozjet I dont see it happening either..

The only way Kiwi will be able to by QFJC is if the Macquarie Bank buys the Qantas group. They will sell it because they will be desperate for the money. QF as it stands today I believe will NOT sell because QFJC provides a valuable feeder service to QF mainline which is something Qantas will not want to loose

One thing that will seriously disadvantage kiwijet is that it will have no international connections

ah, but buying QFJC might lead into some sort of feeder/codeshare agreement with Qantas Australia

interesting times ahead- this uncertainty is one of the factors in me choosing to book with ANZ a year out for Warbirds over Wanaka rather than Qantas...

Cool- just heard about this on the news tonight. $150 to/from any destination in NZ.

I wonder how come there was no talk about them starting up in the last few weeks/months, and I also wonder what their livery is like? I can't wait to spot some down at NZAA and see a FS repaint!

Air New Zealand seems to be taking these threats of new rivals seriously, they are seriously looking at setting a new budget low cost airline of their own!

Oooh got any pics?
And how exactly is Air NZ not already a budget airline on domestic routes? The domestic Air NZ service isn't exactly miles above anything you'd get on Freedom or Virign Blue.

1) Air NZ
2) QF JC
3) Kiwijet
4) Virgin
5) Ozjet
6) Jetstar

all want to operate in the NZ domestic market... Seems like some are going to be dissapointed!  :P

In my opinion the ones that will miss out will be

Ozz jet
Virgin

and depending out on how things work with the QF takeover bid

Kiwijet may miss out

no, the ones to miss out will be:
2) QF JC
3) Kiwijet
4) Virgin
5) Ozjet
6) Jetstar
theres not enough demand for 2 successful airlines in NZ..

On cue and as predicted - competition is launced to drive out the new player.
ANZ have done this with every new entrant to the market and where are they all now !!

What I cannot understand is why Branson and other Squillionaires etc bother with a plan of throwing a couple of aircraft at little ole NZ. Seems just like just a folly.

Having said that if anyone could push ANZ aside Branson is the one to watch

In theory there could be, but Air New Zealand like their little monopoly (ok so it's not a total monopoly, but it's as good as one) which I suppose is understandable given that at the end of the day they are a business and are required to operate profitably.

I don't know, a mate of mine actually tells me Air NZ is performing security checks after the airline feels information has been leaked to other sources, the airline did in fact have a proposal in the pipeline that matches Kiwi Jet's identically.

Who knows, maybe Air NZ is stepping up?

I did think about KJ doing a feeder for QF. But as QF stands today they will find it hard to pull out ( Qantas do not like removing there brand from any market) That is why they started QFJC in the first place.

You have a point there, but if the QF takeover goes ahead then its likely that the new owners are gonna flog off JC, most likely to Patrick Weir the starter of KJ...

I reckon that over the next few months there is gonna be a lot of jostling for spots and there will be few successful and many dissapointed...

Lol, this is a load of bolix

Kiwi jet will end up on the pile of failed airlines in nz laid to rest in a mass grave with Origin, QANTAS NZ, KIWI, ANSETT, NEWMANS.

By the way, APA could possibly have the 50% they were looking for.

Any way, if anything Virgin blue/pac blue would replace Jet Connect If anything were to happen.
Virgin is opening up their long haul international routes (al la 777 order) and possibly looking at getting feeds in NZ.

KiwiJet could never be a feeder for Qantas

And all in all that pdf with media info is so badly put together its just to hard to believe.
Anyway I also feel that the supposed start date(if real) is a little to soon. December lol.

A small amount of snooping has led me to believe that a former Origin Pacific Executive Dave Collier was also behind this but has recently resigned.

NZ Companies Office

Proof that dave collier was from origin

Interesting
And he also could be behind a Car financing business in nelson.
