I dont think my beast should have any troubles running X but as stated above, i AINT in any hurry to change.

For me its due to my PC running fs 2002 at about 15fps, though thats with no AI traffic, settings on med-low and at an fs default airport. I have got FS2004, but it struggled so much that I went back to 2002.

An upgrade is in the pipeline, but waiting to see what SP1 for FSX is going to do.

For once I did my homework and read all the data before making thr wrong move. I consider myself lucky to get the performance I do out of FS9 on my somewhat antiquated rig, so like many others FSX isn't a possibility. Also many years downloading and installations have gone into what I now have so I'll be staying put.

It will be interesting what the result of this poll would be if you ran this poll in a years time or even in a months time.

If/when I win Lotto (and that just ain't gonna happen as I will never buy a ticket) and purchase a new rig, it looks like FS9 for a loooong time to come.

Furthermore, DirectX 10 will only work with Vista, so the true benefits of FSX will only be seen by forking out yet more $ to the Gates Foundation.

Don't get too excited about SP1 fixing anything guys.

I've been able to run FSX to the point where I can fly, but not to a point where it is smooth or enjoyable. I installed SP1 and now it's worse than ever

Don't know if I'm getting better frame rates, just that it stutters like crazy now, huge lumps have appeared in the middle of some of my airfields, it freezes a lot more often, and has numerous dodgy graphics/redraw glitches.

It wasn't ever going to get close to FS9 in terms of 'flyability' but now it's unuseable. Shame really as I would have liked to play around with FSX a bit more. It has potential, but not at the moment.

It will be getting uninstalled for now - might try it again in a few years when hardware catches up to it... <_<

That's sorry to hear. From what I've been reading on the FSX forum, people have been very pleased with the performance upgrades. So much so that the guys with current generation PCs have their settings way up, so hardware is pretty close to catching up

I'm 100% an FS9 user. I don't think my pc would do too much for FSX anyway ;)

With all the add-on's I have I'm still more than happy with my FS9 :D

I have a golden rule for games and that is not to pay more than $80, Flight Sim has cost me more than this with all the extra bits and there is no way I am donating another $100 to the gates fund, not to mention the other $1000s to upgrade my rig :P
