FOR THE HUNTER RIVER Downstream of DENMAN

Issued at 10:48am on Saturday the 9th of June 2007

Flood Warning Number : 5 [reissue typo in singleton forecast]

An average of 140 millimetres of rain has fallen across the Hunter River Valley in the Past 24 hours to 6 am this morning, with some individual locations receiving in excess of 200 millimetres of rain. Rainfall has now eased across the valley, with very little rainfall recorded between 6am and 9am this morning.

The Goulburn River at Sandy Hollow peaked near 10.0 metres around 6am this morning [9/6/2007]. The Hunter River at Muswellbrook peaked near 5.5 metres around 8am. The Wollombi River at Bulga is currently approaching a peak near 6.3 metres.

Major Flooding is expected at Singleton and Maitland today and tonight.

          - Peak near 13.8 metres by around midnight 9/6/07
           
Maitland [Oakhampton Bridge]
             - exceed moderate flood level [10.0 metres] around
               noon 9/3/07
             - exceed major flood level [11.8 metres] around
               9pm 9/3/07.
             - Peak near 12.3 metres around 6am 10/3/07,
               with major flooding.

         
Maitland [Belmore Bridge]
        - exceed moderate flood level [9.1 metres] around
          noon 9/3/07
        - exceed major flood level [10.7 metres] around 9pm
          9/6/07
        - peak near 11.2 metres around 6 am 10/6/07,
          with major flooding.

Raymond Terrace  - peak near 3.2 metres around
                   around 3 am Monday [11/6/07] from the
                   Maitland peak  and the high tide. 
                   With moderate flooding

Bulga [Wollombi Brook] - peak near 6.3 metres by noon
                         9/6/07 with major flooding
