team nz have been racing for weeks now and i notice the other night that each time Alinghi tacked its boat speed dropped to 7.4 n and team nz only to 8.0-8.5 so in a tack duel id expect teamnz to come out on top ,
as for the straight boat speed im sure they are equal ,there was some talk that it was just different sails in the first ,its going to be close race but i think we have a really good chance ,tonight is anyones Alinghi mite come back hard ..

Did anyone else see that little article on 3 news comparing how Team NZ and Alinghi might do better or worse depending on wind speed?

It went something like, less than 9 knots Team NZ will do better, as their thinner hull keeps weight down. 9-12 it will be pretty even, but Alinghi can point their nose into the wind further than TNZ without losing speed. 12-16(?), Alinghi can speed on the downwind and go pretty fast.

Apparently the weather forecast for the next couple of days is for light winds, so hopefully that theory proves itself. :D

BOTHER my attack on the NZ boat has failed. I cut the ropes to the spinnaker that the man was holding onto so he would fall in and slow NZ down so Alinghi could win. :ph43r:
