Just Flight/Aeroplane Heaven Tiger Moth

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby ZK-Brock » Fri Jul 20, 2007 4:05 pm

Hi NZFF
I bought the boxed JF Tiger Moth while I was in England for 15 stirlings at Game. It comes with a nice bunch of repaints, but I was expecting more available for download - I can find very few on Avsim. Is there as bunch of them out there? I've found the ones from our good friend Chris Brisland, but that seems to be it. Am I outta luck? :o

(Very fun aircraft BTW - but it seems a bit gutless)

I think there is a problem with trying to repaint this a/c as Chris has pointed out in other threads. I am pretty sure Chris hasn't any other repaints for this a/c other than the one he is doing now (ZK_BAT). The repaints available that Chris has done is for Warick Carter's Tiger Moth which is completely different.

Gutless - will it is a Tiger Moth with a massive amount of drag and not a lot of horsepower.

I've just checked Avsim - there looks like zero repaints for it - I like the look of the default NZ default scheme on the Tiggie - can you post some screenshots of it when you have a chance?

Cheers

Paul - here ya are. I'm not overly impressed with this repaint actually, the wood holding the wings apart looks rather fake, and up close the cowling looks very plain too. The other paint jobs are better.

Yes, I made that mistake once! Fortunately the AFISO was very understanding, and pointed out my mistake before I landed at the wrong field. There's even a warning in the flight guide (which I had read)!

Lol, yeah I was surprised how close they are too. The first one was taken on finals to Aston Down, the 2nd two on finals to Kemble.

Right, I just discovered the best version of the Tiger - the Canadian DH82 C model:

Almost Yak-style aeros to go with the Yak-52 look

Also have a look at the cockpit in the exterior model - very detailed:

Thought so- they don't look very realistic to the area IMO.

You may wish to try RealityPack 1.2, which is like a version of VOZ but for Europe, and one of the highest downloads of the year from Avsim.

BTW love that GAME shop in England- I used to by all my Gamecube games from there its much cheaper than everyone else and owned by EB I think.

After yet another month's rain in two hours flat, it's mostly under water, with Severe Flood Warnings issued for large parts of the country. :(

Yeah I have heard from my rellies in England about it- that sucks. I thought you Northern Hemispherians would be experiencing another hot as heat-wave summer like has happened for the last few years! The flooding has also has been happening over here, up in Northland. Peoples lives have been compleatly ruined.

However, I'd really like to see some photoreal scenery of flooded land, and fly over is in flight sim to see how different the landscape looks, as I am fascinated by that sort of thing in the TV reports. I know that sounds all high and mighty of me, but I really do feel very sorry for the people who are experiencing it for real and am not trying to make entertainment out of thier misfortune :(

It's an El Niño year. The hot weather is being blocked by unusually warm sea currents spawning low pressure system after low pressure system after... Basically we need a shift in the ocean currents to break the cycle.

Don't know how you'd achieve flooding in the sim. It's not just towns and fields flooded from burst river banks, there are airfields under more than a metre of water (less "wet wet wet", more "glug glug glug"!) Of course you can guarantee FS would still show it as desert!
