August Screenshot Competition

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

This month, Red Baron Entertainment are sponsoring our screenshot competition. This means that the person who wins with the best screenshot this month will receive either the Red Baron Entertainment's Victoria Topo Package or the New Zealand Topo Package payware product they want which can be viewed at www.redbarent.com ... Now that's an incentive for you all to enter!

Here is our 16th monthly Screenshot Competition, which is free to enter for all the members of NZFF*

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be as close as possible to 984 pixels wide- read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high res version saved on your computer as the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert it into a site banner!

3) Images can be submitted from August 1st to August 31st 2007, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one (by pressing the edit button, to the top right of your post. Please don't make new posts saying you have edited your original post as this makes the thread cluttered).

4) On August 31st, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the Red Baron prize!

5) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

6) This month's theme is 'Terrain' meaning your screenshot must display some connection with flightsim ground terrain- an opportunity to show off some addon mesh perhaps.

* As we are offering payware prizes, each member who enters must have at least a 2 month membership (signed up before the end of May) at NZFF before they can enter.

I have a sugestion for the screenshot compatition. Why not have the sponsors logo in the banner, with that logo linking to their website perhaps, "this mounths sponsor" or something like that, just a thought.

Great prize this mouth, terrain ae, lets see, a 763 on approach for rwy 16 at Wellington, sunset, shot from the flight deck looking south east across the harbour, cabin lights on or off? On could be best, or maby from spot, gear comeing down as the last bit of light comes over the horizon in the distance. Low vis, not to low, just to bring out the butiful photoreal hills. Looks like im flying to Wellington this afterooon... many FSX with my new bird, bad fps ariving in wellington thow...

Good fun. biggrin.gif

The Red's practicing 'over' Seattle. All default except Sukhoi's from Avsim.

Well I guess mine will be the opposite to Jimmy's, if his is what I think it is.. No fancy mesh here, but we all know what word was blaring in the cockpit right then..

Yeah ok i know, but can we just pretend Aerobatic a/c have TAWS? Bucktooth.gif laugh.gif

EDIT: Ok, what's with me and fprgetting the NZ-Only rule.. angry.gif dry.gif

Crikey I need to think of something I am a bit slack this month - nice shot Ian by the way even if it isn't in NZ - your timing was coincidental as I was just flying the TU-22 - I'll need to get this in formation with my Mig-21.

August Screenshot entry

Here is my entry for the August screenshot competition. View from the cockpit, with the new RealNZ Marlborough scenery and 20m mesh, and looking north towards Picton harbour and the Sounds. Picton (Koromiko) airport is almost in the centre of the shot, with Hwy1 just to the right. If I look very closely, then I might be able to spot the Highway patrol car waiting for motorists coming down the hill into Picton!!

Just proves that there is life left in FS9 yet.

smooth landings!

This is going to be the last sponsored screenshot competition if there is not more interest- only 4 entries in 24 days isn't an impressive turnout!

Thank you to all those who have entered so far.

Just follow this train of thought:
Theme - Terrain
Number of users with RBE NZ product who'd enter to win RBE again - ??
Number of users without RBE NZ product who'd enter, knowing their default terrain is 'orrible - Less than ?? above, surely
SO, given you have essentially removed the incentive to enter, that leaves the other 4 who mis-posted...

BUT here's a placeholder to show we forgive you:

Swear I saw a Russkie in 'ere somewhere...
