FFX 737-300 - ZK-SJB

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Kelburn » Mon Aug 13, 2007 8:39 pm

Thought I 'd give it a try.
I am whitening out the fuselage (using paint laugh.gif ) done by Michael Corcoran and I slightly edited (again using paint laugh.gif) the FFX Freedom Air repaint of Avsim's engines:

Not that good but it's worth a try. If anyone really wants it when I'm done I may upload it to AVSIM

If you want a 'powerful' image editor, that comes at an awesome price (ie. it is free), and is not too large (about 14megs for app+required libraries), you may want to try the windows version of The Gimp... it is basically an open source photoshop-like[1] image editor... has more features than you could shake a stick at and, apparently[2], it even works with lots of photoshop plugins!

Also, I assume you have 0x Anti-Aliasing... those jaggies are hurting my eyes! dry.gif

cheers,
HCP

[1] I have read that photoshop users generally despise GIMP, saying the interface is clunky and non-intuitive. However, I have never used photoshop, so was not having to 're-learn' anything

[2] I have never actually tried this

The GIMP's not that hard to get used to, I used it before I got photoshop last year for my Art Design homework from school (not that there was much of it). It's worth the effort IMO, and when you get into using photoshop (i.e. if ya do art design at school), it'll be easy as. You'll be able to do much more with your repaints I'm sure.

I can't be bothered. I know the basics of Photoshop from Graphics but we only usd that once or twice earlier on this year but I can do a few things with it.

Here's another repaint I did today.

I won't tell you what the company is and what they do but they were linked to the major redo of Wellington airport in 1998 and the redo of Queenstown airport and Dunedin Airport.
