Ultimate Traffic

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Kelburn » Sun Aug 19, 2007 10:28 am

I'm thinking of maybe getting it in the near future. Is it good? Is there traffic from every continent. Is Air New Zealand in it?

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

I don't have it, but it doesn't thrill me at all. For a payware product, the AI models are bollocks. You're better off using PAI. winkyy.gif

I've heard that it is heavier on the frames than some other, non-payware, AI packages. Project AI do good work, but I've had trouble finding my way around their site sinced they've changed it. smile.gif

I would agree with Alex. the PAI "new" website is a bit messy for me, but I now use World of AI ( http://www.world-of-ai.com/packages.php ) no Air NZ at the moment, but is shaping up to be a must have I think.

What about WOAI + VOZ + GNZLAP?
Or someone a whiel ago had that Adobe AI. It's fantastic, but not 100% legal I don't think. I've got a copy bought for me in Malaysia by innocent old Nana.. laugh.gif
It's incredible. The models are awesome, but it's a real frame hog.

Actually that's exactly what I use WOAI + VOZ + GNZLAP (I also use some PAI for other AI as well) though I have to admit I have never used any type of payware AI program like Ultimate Traffic, because my AI needs are covered by WOAI + VOZ + GNZLAP.

I use PAI + GA Traffic. I trying GNZLAP but I think it needs payware of some sort? I seem to have planes with no paint. PAI is a mission to get setup cus you need to download a HEAP of liveries if you want a round the world experience. GA Traffic just takes all your installed GA planes and gives them loadsa flight plans all round the world. Especially good if you create AFCADS to add ramps to airstrips and want the AI to use it.

I've had Ultimate Traffic for years, but I don't use it any more. (now GNZLAP and VOZ only)
It is very easy to set up, but probably just as tricky as the freeware packages to keep up to date.

Kelburn, if ya do most of your flying in NZ, VOZ AI will do you fine, as it includes Air NZ and the link airlines, + other NZ non-GA.

Ive had UT for ages, Ive found it to be a very good product, easy to set up and it workes all the time. VOZ and GNZLAP has some major problems with AFCADS. Depends on what you want from it.

Matter of interest, does UT come with AFCADs for NZ?

What I want is a traffic package that I can add to FS2002 with minimal effort that Has AI for the U.S.A. (preferably Freeware) that either comes in one download with all the aircraft included or in packs of airlines with the aircraft included

You're probably dead in the water since you'd need AFCAD 1 files.
Haven't seen any of those for maybe 5 years.

Ditto, sort of. I have just disabled the Oceania traffic through the UT interface and replaced it with VOZ.

The UT aircraft are pretty framerate intensive.

MyTraffic and Ultimate Traffic are great if you don't mind garbage models and repaints along with make believe flightplans and lower frame rates. If that's your thing, then I highly recommend them both.

I could easily squat over my monitor and pinch one off and still have better results than you'll get from payware packages using PAI version 1 models along with rehashed repaints. Sorry to be so crude, but the truth needs to be told.

The results one would get after a few hours manually installing superior freeware models, repaints, and realistic flightplans is well worth the time and effort. Save your money!
