September Screenshot Competition

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Postby ardypilot » Fri Aug 31, 2007 9:43 pm

This month, we have decided that rather than constraining each entry to a particular theme, you can enter whatever screenshot you like (as long as it adheres to the rules below). To compliment this, we are letting you have a choice in prizes if you win as well... get this: You may select ANY REAL NZ product you like OR a €20 SimMarket voucher! As well as that, your screenshot will be cropped into a banner which will be displayed at the top of the NZFF website for the next month... Now that really is an incentive for you all to enter!

Here is our 17th monthly Screenshot Competition, which is free to enter for all the members of NZFF*

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be as close as possible to 984 pixels wide- read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high res version saved on your computer as the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert it into a site banner!

3) Images can be submitted from August 31st to September 30th 2007, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one (by pressing the edit button, to the top right of your post. Please don't make new posts saying you have edited your original post as this makes the thread cluttered).

4) On September 30th, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the REAL NZ prize or SimMarket voucher!

5) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

* As we are offering payware prizes, each member who enters must have at least a 2 month membership (signed up before the end of June) at NZFF before they can enter.

All the best to everyone, lets see lots of entries guys! May the best man win! ninja.gif

Just snuck in by a hairbreath of a propeller blade last month so I thought I'll get in real early this time. This one is from my favourite scenery at the mo (sorry,no prizes for guessing which one it is winkyy.gif ) after a series of touch & go's and now about to head off to the clubhouse for some verbal hammering from the instructor about that low pass over the tower laugh.gif Wish me luck!

Two nice shots so far to start things out, on what will undoubtedly be another tough month of screenshots. I was playing Test Drive most of last month, so didn't do much simming. Time for another entry..

This is a shot of ZK-HNI on charter for DOC in Milford Sound, arriving back at base after a day of work in the wilderness.

Nice composition and a good feel for the Sounds. Those rock textures are awesome. Been meaning to give TestDrive a go as I have the Hawaii photoreal scenery from Megascenery X and would be nice to drive around the island as well. tongue.gif

Thanks smile.gif
Test Drive is great. It's the only other game out there that in the last three years has managed to take 3 weeks in a row out of my flight simming! If you've got a computer to run it I can't recommend it highly enough .. (but I drift off topic.......) Cheers

Mostly you are just seeing the free 75m mesh from http://www.geographx.co.nz/downloads.html
But lying underneath is the NZ topo addon and some Ground Environment textures (payware)
Also a free landclass update from http://www.redbarent.com/free_stuff.htm

Close but no cigars (okay...maybe one just don't inhale) Maybe it's the hills on all sides , or those challenging landings with high crosswind with only that thin strip of concrete that suddenly appears out of the clouds at the last few minutes , only to find that your actually not lined up correctly or that calm evening with the sun setting and it's just you and the sky...well a screenshots just around the corner or it could be that I live in Palmy and it's just a short flight to the capital. winkyy.gif

Found this in the Wanaka folder.

The original was looking a little washed-out, so I just bleached it a little more.

well heres one of my older ones, i found on the comp, i like it has some atmosphere about it

In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
