This was an interesting entertainment on a rainy Sunday...
Lawrie Roache has produced another key scenery in NZWU and so of course one ambles off to have a looksee.
I took off like this in my trusty Harvard:

and thought: wonder how good this bit of NZ scenery is?
So I took a screenshot, and then loaded my second-favourite flight simulator, Google Earth, and did the same (bottom shot)

Can't quite decide which gave me more of a kick - how good Christian's landclass must be, or how cool Google is.
Either way, might be nice if one of the pilots in the mid-North Island had a a similar real-world shot to compare?

at least Google has the river color correct, i don't think i have every seen the river any other color than brown!!!!
In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
