You would think they would have this solid by now as that would be part of the business plan from the start or thought of the whole idea , this still seems to be just hype or something ,is this company just going workout what they are doing and get in the skys ,or just waste resource,reaseach moneys ,by the time they work all this out the ozzy company would have started more routes and cover most of the places that they wanted

Yeah that makes more sence ,but november 2008 ,i hope they dont end up waiting to long before pacfic blue take over the market they are counting on ,i suppose like them we will just see what happens

Smells like compleate and utter bull**** to me!

The statements they have released contain information any internet-wise aviation geek could find out, and there is no solid proof what so ever that they exist! Christchurch airport know's nothing of them, and it appears Embraer and Avro havn't realased anything about the orders either...

A follow on media release will be forthcoming within the next 2 weeks to showcase the AVRO RJ-100 (ARJ) to the media.

As the Tui billboards say.. Yeah Right! I bet $10 that it never happens laugh.gif

Hmmm were going to start flying an Airline in NZ and we will use 737's... wait no Embrears... wait no RJ100's no Embrears... oh no really we want whisper jets.

well guys sounds like another good business process in the making wonder if they will get past the first 2 months.

Next they'll be telling us they've decided a fleet of Tupolevs would be a better option. Oh and maybe a VFW 614 (Google it) thrown in for those shorter routes.

lol, the BAE family have brought down many airlines around the pacific.
Ansett, Qantas NZ anyone????????

If anyone doesnt know the story about ansett buying BAE 146, one of their bigwigs, possibly Sir Peter Ables bought all the 146s off the production line for 2-3 years and was going to try and start up a leasing company. Terrible purchase if you asked me, that contributed to Ansett's demise.

yes i do know bout that story one airline that fly the BAE 146 is national jet system (australia) and there are still flying well and by the way that didnt contributed to ansetts demise it was it parent company that brought it down and that was air new zealand

Well, given the state of Ansett's fleet at the time, and the amount of work needed to bring it fully up to scratch - and the fiscal difficulties Air NZ was going through, in retrospect it would have been difficult for Air NZ to keep both itself and Ansett running profitably...

Yes it did, it was stupid fleet decisions that caused lots of problems down the track, 3 crew 767s, um hello, what a stupid idea.
Also things like Virgin Blue and the serious strangle hold of the unions on ansett.
Things like investing an America West Airlines, and some stupid resort on Hamilton Island.
It wasnt the one thing that brought down the airline but it certainly was another straw to the camels back.
Air NZ had already brought into a flailing airline, the seeds had already been sown a long time ago for its demise.

Btw National Jet System is in a completely different situation, i can bet that a bulk of there money comes from Qantas link.

The BAE 146 is not a bad plane, it was just another dumb decision by a Exec to invest in buying out the whole production line for 2 years and trying to start a leasing company.
Right before they left the Mount Cook fleet they were being used on runs that the ATRs are today, QN to RO for example the 146 can actually be profitable, when not used for quick hops but decent legs money can be made.
