RCAF Pilots 1943 - 45

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Hi all.

Someone commented on one of my videos and I wonder if anyone has any info that can help him out?

Here's the query:

***********************************************************

Just putting this on in the remote chance someone from N.Z. might have some info. My late father was an RCAF pilot who served overseas from 1943 - 1945. In his Pilot's Flying Log Book there is a photo with the caption on the back "Darky Saffe N.Z. 7(P) AFU Jan 44". The aircraft is, I believe, a Miles Master II. 7 (P) AFU was 7 Pilot's Advanced Flying School in Northants, England. If this rings a bell with anyone would be glad to hear from you.

***********************************************************

Let me know if you have any info that would help smile.gif

You could try posting it on Wings over Cambridge (New Zealand aviation site) where there is a lot of guys there that have a lot of NZ historical aviation knowledge. Site here

Thanks Naki, I've sent him that link, along with some more NZ Warbirds Association links to try.
