Thanks for the post CN.
I've followed Phil's blog previously, and he is an articulate and open person.
This however is pure spin, the poor ACES guys were put in a position they could not defend.
DX9, DX10, VISTA or not, SP1, SP2, FS9 somewhere in the mix (Yeah guys it's still the sim of choice, see the sales figures)
Sheesh! your head spins...

I'd like to see a lot more development work happening for FS9, for at least another year.
This is what I said a year ago.

It's hard enough finding decent addons for FSX as it is, and with FS9 stuff rarely working without some kind of problem. Devs are saying they don't want to have to develop everything twice to support both sims. Now FS9 stuff is even less likely to work, and there is a third stream for addons that work with DX10. With the implicit statement that 'old' addons won't work at all in future, I'm starting to look for phrases containing the words "straw" "camel" and "back"...

I can't help feeling like I bought a new car only to discover the roads are not compatible...

Trouble is, if we all go back to FS9, rather than fix things, MS will probably just shut down FS completely. Caught between a rock and a hard place. sad.gif
