I did it. I brought 2 Palit 8600Gt and I will overclock them to GTS speed, which means I will be running 2x 8600GTS in SLI which is just slightly slower than a 320mb 8800GTS, but cost $150 less. It should be here by the weekend.

Great news. The shop was out of stock, and new stock was expected in on Monday. Thanks to the Auckland Port Strikes, the shop still doesnt have them in stock, so I wont get the cards until next week. Talk about bad luck..

well, I opened up the door today and found a rather large parcel on my door step. Opened it up, and among all the packaging, the were 2 video card boxes.

i havnt really played around with them, but my FPS in all games pretty much doubled (except FS9 and FSX which saw no gains).

I now see solid 60FPS at 1600x1200 on Test drive Unlimited, with everything on high and 4x aa. Not bad

And, I still have to overclock!
